  1. Jesus Christ. Ok, let's make this simple for the ease of understanding... YES, you are correct, highlighting that we were good in 2020 "achieves nothing", IF the reason for pointing it out was to counter the argument of how "shit" we are now.... BUT, that WASN'T the reason for mentioning it. The ONLY reason for mentioning it was to counter the comment that we've never had any good spells under RH, which was obviously a load of old tosh, as you agree. Your go... #crackon #rocketscience
  2. Neither myself nor MLG were "harping back to good times" (Apologies again if the mere act of pointing out an inaccuracy in someone's post is "proving a point") #crackon
  3. I humbly apologise for simply pointing out that someone said something that was incorrect on a football forum. If you want to misinterpret that as "proving a point" then, likewise, "crack on" #facepalm
  4. Agree that the past doesn't matter (in the context of discussing current form), but if someone makes an incorrect statement about the past, isn't it reasonable to point out what they've said is incorrect? P.s. I really enjoyed us winning the league in 1983...
  5. Maybe so, but MLG was simply correcting Lord D's assertion that we've not had good spells of form under RH. Given we were the 4th best team in 2020, Lord D is obviously incorrect in his assertion. That is all.
  6. I'm beginning to see how Brexit might have happened having watched these... 😂
  7. I've just had a quick look on various 'Southampton Area' social media groups/pages and most people are reporting plenty of availability. Difficult to know who to believe in this day and age I guess?
  8. Yep, I thought that too... It's not really the answer you'd expect about a player that is simply returning from injury. I know it puts me on the fringes of the conspiracy theorist camp but there are definite vibes that suggest there is more to it they're overtly letting on.
  9. RH: "Stuey has been training this week and we will decide if he can be involved in the squad this weekend" (or words to that effect)
  10. Defo a crazy stat, but it doesn't surprise me either. For me, he's the first name on the starting 11 team sheet every time. He's so pivotal to the way we play. We don't have anyone else with the same attributes, and without him Ralph's system falters.

  12. Forecourts having temporary fuel hiatuses happens from time to time. I went to my local garage to fill up about 4 months ago and they had run out of petrol. So I went back home and filled up the next day. It's not the closure that causes panic buying, per se, it's how it's perceived, and how it's reported contributes to the perception. Are you suggesting the way it was reported didn't contribute to what happened next at all?
  13. I think you've successfully answered your own question there! (I predict I'm going to spend all afternoon on the toilet... now, where did I put that packet of laxatives...)
  14. I've no idea, hence asking if you knew.
  15. I was referring to the reported percentage closures at the time the story first broke, not what it is now...
  16. How many other countries had salivating TV reporters camped out at petrol station forecourts to report an impending "fuel crisis" on the back of 0.4% of petrol stations being temporarily closed?
  17. Can't you dust off the abacus that the previous football club at Fratton Park used to tot up the amount they stole from the taxpayer and charities in order to retrospectively pay for the FA Cup trophy they bought?
  18. It shouldn't be the aim but, alas, when a club is in a state of ownership limbo, it's the unfortunate reality.
  19. Come on chaps. We all know calendar year stats are meaningless
  20. Sounds good, but I don't really see understand this stats malarkey. Can someone distill this into layman's terms?
  21. Calendar year records are meaningless (or so we were told 9 months ago)
  22. Not really, but cheers for the clarification 👍
