I get all that but you've got to admit that the absence of a solitary photo with the fella holding up a Saints shirt is a tad unusual. No-one's asking an episode of This is Your Life...

Granted, but I would venture that the speculation and ill-feeling that the cloak and dagger approach engenders is more damaging from a PR perspective than just coming out with it in the first place. No-one is asking for intimate details, just what the general gist is. I would have a whole lot more respect for the club than I do right now if they were to be honest with their fans on my occasions such as this. And this is coming from someone who doesn't usually get bothered by this kinda thing.

If it was as simple / innocent as that then we'd still have seen PR photos / initial interview etc, surely? It's quite clear that the club have a reason that want to conceal why the signing gas gone awry. That's their prerogative of course, but keeping the fans in the dark isn't a very good look...

Disagree in regards pre-season. We usually get wall-to-wall coverage on that side of things. Appreciate we're living under the shadow of the pandemic which will curtail the PR machine to a certain degree but I think the lack of coverage this year is vastly disproportionate to previous years. (just a perception so could be wide of the mark I guess)

This is getting silly now.... can someone give me one genuinely believable reason why the club haven't yet taken and/or published one solitary photo of our new signing in situ? (And no "first interview" video either for that matter). Surely something major must be awry for that not to have happened yet?

The conspiracy theorist in me is certainly thinking that something isn't quite right with the Salisu situation. Given it seems (by deduction) that it's Redmond who is the "Southampton player with Covid", it's pointing towards Salisu being more unfit / injured than originally anticipated or something has gone awry with his paperwork. (either of those would fit @LeG's "typical Saints" remark....). Of course, I'm sure there's a less conspiratorial reason that we're not aware of.....

Other than them both being Chinese, is there any tangible connection between Gao and the owners of Espanyol (Chen Yansheng / Rastor Group)? Maybe that's the key to understanding who or what LD Sports are/were...?

Question: Why haven't there been any official photos of Salisu published yet? Even if he's training on his own, why no photoshoot? In days gone by, we'd have been inudated with new signing photos. Maybe they've been waiting for the kit sponsor debacle to be sorted before snapping him all kitted out? Surely if the club have got time to come up with a glossy "oops, new sponsor" video then they've got time to take a few photos of our new signing, even if that's only some photos of him "doing fitness training away from the squad"? Yours ponderously....
