Sheaf nails it on the head there. The Hammond situation is exactly how we should be proceeding. What's best for the club has to come before undivided loyalty to certain players. It's a ruthless league that requires ruthless action, not sentimentality....

It just so happens that I'm lobbying the PL, the FA and FIFA for an emergency change to the laws of the game so that clubs can bring on a player temporarily to take free-kicks as many times as required during the game. I'll keep you posted.
