BBD is playing as we speak for Chile in Chile, so I'd be surprised if he'll be deemed ready to start on Saturday (yes, I appreciate it's still only Tuesday but he's probably not going to be back at Staplewood until Thursday at the earliest + time difference/ jet lag to consider)

I'm sure Russ won't perpetual said "gag" when asked for an update on Stewart at this week's pre-match press conference....
-
A mere 3 games into a new season? You sure about that...? Surely after 3 defeats we'd have been spending every minute on the training field getting things right rather than sunbathing on a Mediterranean beach somewhere...?
-
Anyone else think it a bit odd that the club have posted very little training footage during this international break? We usually get regular training ground updates to fill the void but not this time it would seem. Wasn't sure where to post this observation but maybe it has something to do with keeping a lid on Stewart's fitness (be it good or bad news)? Verging on conspiracy theory territory, I know, but just pondering why we haven't been getting the usual dose of training coverage during this break.

Ramsdale Suga - THB - Bednarek - KWP Downes - BL Lallana - Fernandes - Dibling Archer Ross Stewart with a 10 minute cameo from the bench now that he's been in full training for 2 weeks...
-
Doesn't that depend on whether or not Ankersen fancies doing another tactical U-turn, like he did with the Jones -> Martin (via Selles) appointments...?

Cheers for the thoughts Dusic 👍 Unlike most, I tend not to have a specific "point" in mind when I post on here, rather I just do a lot of pondering out loud without thinking too much about why I'm thinking said thoughts...! I agree that "RussBall" (or should that be "JaseBall"...?!) worked ok last season, but I guess we're yet to see how much of that was down to playing in an inferior league. I'm still confident that Russ can make it work in the Premier League too. Time will tell of course...

Chomp, chomp, chomp....

Indeed, and I would venture that at least 90% of active forum members on here are in the former camp, with a vocal minority in the latter.
-
Also in my head, mostly...

The same twats that cause the daily tailbacks on the A303 due to gawping at Stonehenge, no doubt.
-
It's even worse than that.... most of us don't have the advantage of multiple users of the same account....
-
That's definitely where I make up most of the nonsense I post to be fair.... What part of the body does yours come from...?
-
Yeah, agree... those that focus on the small minority of fans that are calling for Russ to be sacked, whilst ignoring the majority of pragmatic fans who have valid concerns but still want Russ to succeed, need to stop being so dramatic...
-
One assumes the club's media team are champing at the bit to publish the photos of him training this week... That said, given it's almost the end of the week, with very little training footage released so far, one assumes they're waiting for the photos to arrive in the post from TruPrint...?
-
I can see the 'mental struggle' to understand the small minority of fans that are calling for Russ to be sacked after 3 games, but what about the majority of fans who want Russ to succeed, don't want him sacked as things stand, but have valid concerns about whether or not Russ has the acumen to get the best out of the players at his disposal and turn things around? Do they pass the Manji mentality test...?

I've only been on the forum for 20 years.... You'll get used to it after a while...

Are you my wife? She's always twisting my words to imply something that I didn't say.... I'll make it easy for you... (see, this patronising malarkey is child's play.... ) - I don't think RM is an idiot - I'm not a sycophant nor over defensive of RM It's almost as if both of those stances aren't mutually exclusive....
-
Aren't theories "made up" by definition....? Otherwise they'd be facts, not theories...? (I have a theory you may disagree with me... )
-
Indeed. My point precisely. I fully admit that my initial sychopancy with Ralph clouded my judgement and, as you'll astutely recall, I admitted as such towards the end of his tenure and joined the call for him to go. So, yep, thanks for underlining my point...

"Give it a chance".... agreed, and I think *most* fans would class themselves in that bracket at the moment. Seemingly, the difference between, say, me and your good self, is that I value opinions on both sides of the debate, even those that are at either extremes. If someone feels that 'Russball' is doomed to failure and thus doesn't feel that it's worth 'giving him a chance' then that's a perfectly valid viewpoint in my book, and not something that I feel the need to insessantly contest. What I don't get is this obsession with attempting to ridicule, dismiss or scoff at other points of view. We all think differently. Hoorah! That's something to embrace rather than endlessly attempt to 'prove' someone wrong. Maybe that's why my marriage has lasted 35 years.... ("Yes dear, that's a very good point. Now, do you mind if I switch over to watch The Chase?")

Ha! My money was on you being Lucy but close enough...
