  1. @bigadamsport It's our understanding #Pompey have made an approach to Chesterfield FC to speak to their manager Paul Cook about vacant job at Fratton Park
  2. As an aside, Wasn't JRod supposed to be starting normal first team training again this week? No sign of him in today's video
  3. Koeman at today's press conference: "Gallagher won't be involved in the first team this weekend - we already have enough first team players at the moment"

  5. Koeman confirmed at today's press conference: "Toby back in training today and should be available for Saturday"

  7. Agree. I'm not suggesting otherwise. They are complimentary recipients of my money. I'm not advocating paying less tax in order to give more to charity....I think the balance is currently about right. I'm advocating not paying more tax so that I can maintain my existing levels of charity giving.
  8. Yes, of course the 'wealth' gets transformed into something more tangible in the process, but I'd still rather have the choice as to where my 'spare' cash goes rather than have more of it siphoned up in taxes. The less tax I pay the more I give to worthy causes. I'm happy with the current balance I'm able to strike between the two.

  10. The 'next Harry Kane'...? http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/12903604.Saints_striker_Sam_can_be_the_next_Harry_Kane/
  11. Correct. Aren't most opinions 'framed' to highlight a particular perspective?
  12. However one chooses to frame it, my preference is to give any 'spare' cash I have to charities rather than pay more tax. A balance between tax and charity contributions is a good thing IMO. I wouldn't want to see that choice taken away from me via higher taxation.

  14. Whilst it may not be an overtly stated 'purpose' its what they end up doing, surely? I give some of my wealth to Oxfam (for example) and they distribute it to where it needs to go. OK, so I'm over simplifying the process perhaps, but that's because I'm a simple kinda guy.
  15. I'm inclined to disagree. I think charities are much more efficient at distributing wealth than politicians.
  16. It's that c-word that makes this such a great spectator sport
  17. The cuts that the coalition have ended up making over the last 5 years have ended up pretty much in line with Alastair Darling's 2010 projections. So, I guess we can conclude that the coalition cuts have been as "fair" as Labour's would have been...
  18. Teddy Sherringham's first managerial job? At Pompey? Please let that happen #herotovillain
  19. Does that also apply in reverse? That is, in theory, could Wanyama have been given a run out last night (to keep him match fit during his two match PL suspension)? Probably wouldn't have been within the 'spirit' of the game but....
  20. Indeed
  21. Highlights....

  23. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/business/local-business/another-boost-for-pompey-with-new-sponsorship-deal-1-6699673 Given the amount they've taken out of the community over the last five years or so, it's gonna take a while to get back to a nett position in the giving and taking department. Ah, oops, apologies....I forgot....those legacy debts are nothing to do with the current incarnation of Portsmouth Football Club..... And good to see that the board aren't concealing the value of the sponsorship deal from the club's "owners"....
  24. They announced that the team wouldn't parade the cup in front of fans if any more people ran onto the pitch. So, it would have affected those wanting to see the team parading the cup.
