  1. Are you leading the new Carlsberg campaign for their new avoiding questions venture...?
  2. Thus proving...? That 90% of keyboard warriors are Tory bashers?
  3. I can't compete with such intellectual contributions. You win.
  4. Great speech from Dave
  5. That's my point though. The pledge was made on the basis that they wouldn't be in government (implicitly or otherwise). The minute they became part of the government anything they pledged to do as an opposition party was null and void. That's how coalitions work. You come up with a compromise arrangement rather than implement any "promises" you were making in the event of a different outcome.
  6. The Lib Dems pledged to abolish tuition fees if they won the general election. They didn't win the election ergo they didn't (couldn't) break any manifesto pledges.
  7. Indeed....that was my point.....
  8. "They" were the unions, who used their block vote to usurp the individual party members who voted for DM. Funny old game this democracy malarkey sometimes....

  10. An article that'll possibly come back to haunt us at the end of the season but good to enjoy the schadenfreude whilst it lasts
  11. @SouthamptonFC: 56: We could see @lloyd_isgrove and @SamGallagher40 back in action shortly. Both are warming up. #saintsfcu21s [2-0]

  14. Lawrenson: 2-0 to Saints
  15. He wasn't on trial today so could get away with making stuff up. He'd never get away with the same tactic in a court of law of course...
  16. I guess the obvious follow up question is: "did any of the people giving you information have a vested interest or some connection to people who might have reason to hold a grudge against the current regime?" Or would you describe your source(s) as 100% neutral observers? Not sure if you can answer that one without giving away too much of a clue as to who your source(s) are? No worries if that's the case. Anyway, as you say, we're all Saints fans at the end of the day so onwards and upwards! *****il the next 'meltdown')
  17. Its not very often I get a compliment on here but I'll take that one. It was a compliment, wasn't?
  18. Was about time we had a match preview thread
  19. @bigadamsport: #saintsfc Great story from Jose Fonte - he told RK after #AFC game that players wanted to cancel day off Wednesday & train - so they did !
  20. QPR are 8/1 to win and the draw is 7/2. Time for my first "disappointment offsetting" bet of the season I reckon....
