Not forgetting the c.£100m the Scottish government have spent on private treatment for NHS patients. Not bad going for a government that 'pledged' never to go down the private route for NHS treatment in Scotland. More manifesto "lies" perhaps...?

Whilst I've no reason to disbelieve the Mirror's slant on who said what vs their perception of reality, a more independent analysis of their election pledges would be more useful. That said, election manifestos are a list of aspirations rather than a list promises so technically its incorrect to describe an unfulfilled election aspirations a "lie" (although I appreciate why a left wing red top would choose to describe it thus)

I think we need to start with Pelle and Long to give them as much chance as possible of forming a decent partnership up front. I also think its time to give Gardos a crack of the whip, assuming he's now 100% fit. And sticking my neck out that we'll have a 'new winger' in time to feature. So, I'd go for... Forster Clyne - Fonte - Gardos - Bertrand Cork/Morgan* - Wanyama JWP - Long - Tadic Pelle Subs: K Davis, Targett, Yoshida, Cork/Reed*, S Davis, Taider, Ramirez, New Winger *Dependent on the current whereabouts of Morgan's head All of which highlights we're missing another 'centre forward' to come off the bench (assuming Gallagher is still injured)

I've mulled over that conundrum too (without coming to any conclusions) Another thing to ponder on is how does the 2015 UK general election work if the Scots vote for separation? Surely Scots couldn't be involved in a general election for a country that they'll leave part way through a parliament? Or would there be another rUK general election on 'Scottish independence day'? And what if we vote in a UK government in 2015 who have a different stance on the separation negotiations that will have started by then? Do the negotiations get scrapped and start again from square one, thus derailing Salmond's target of Spring 2016? Lots of "what ifs" for sure
