  1. No one actually knows how much Liebherr paid do they? It is extremely unlikely he paid 100% and was likely much less. However the circa £30 million mortgage with Aviva was until 2026. Aviva didn't need to accept a smaller amount just for it to be paid off. I'm sure if they wanted they could just say "lets keep it until 2026". It was the £5 million overdraft with Barclays that was called in that needed paying sharpish.
  2. This is what makes Liebherr different from the many recent Pompey owners. Do some research on the Liebherr dynasty going back to when Markus' dad Hans Liebherr started 60 years ago his consruction company and you will see it is a policy of theirs to not accrue any debt. The takeover wiped out all debt on the stadium, which was the burden around the clubs neck and is no longer there. Liebherr is also investing heavily in a massive training ground & academy upgrade. http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/images/planningimages/129047_1.pdf Also the concourses are being reworked in the summer, corporates facilities being updated and the changing rooms have already been redone. Not the actions of someone in it for the short term!
  3. Follow up to creditors meeting... http://www.uhy-uk.com/media/download/turnaround-and-recovery/17.06%20Creditors%20meeting.pdf
  4. Common sense overload... **StuRomseySaint's head explodes**
  5. When you find some information that Liebherr's wealth is not based on the construction and rail industry, but instead based on amassing debt, money laundering, gun running, tax evasion and selling landmines I'll start to worry.
  6. Stu says alot of things that are rubbish and if he disagrees with you he flings around petty insults and starts PM'ing asking to meet face to face. So be careful Nick!
  7. Lallana on the left and Puncheon on the right was very effective last season. They swap over occasionally as well during games.
  8. But the banner has a man with a cool mustache!
  9. It is going to be a long hard season at Charlton. Looks like they are desperately trying to avoid administration. http://www.cafc.co.uk/newsview.ink?nid=36204&newstype=n
  10. Cortese saves lives! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8229760.Elvis_quits_cigarettes___to_see_Saints_play/
  11. Saints have no debt on the stadium. Liebherr is also funding a new training ground complex in the New Forest(which has now got planning permission), academy upgrade and is looking in the future to expand St Mary's or relocate to a new stadium. - Saints were bottom half of League One for a large part of last season and averaged 21k playing Yeovil, Exeter and Wycombe etc. - Pompey in the Premiership averaged 18k playing Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal etc. And had 3,000 empty seats and sometimes as many as 5,000 empty in an already small stadium in the best League in the world. Saints should be challenging for promotion next season in League One and I predict an average circa 23/24k. In the Championship if challenging for promotion it will be circa 27/28k.
  12. North Korean players won't move to Western Europe.
  13. He has admitted he knows one of the guilty, so he isn't exactly impartial.
  14. I'm not in jail for events on 13th February 2010. Why is that? After the final whistle I was disappointed to lose to our rivals but I walked out of the Kingsland stand and walked home. Didn't even watch events unfold. It really wasn't hard to do.
  15. He doesn't. Pulis is 25 and has been no where near a Pardew matchday squad all season. Maybe Pulis/his agent are still in negotiations to mutually cancel the contract.
  16. Argh. I actually agree with Dune! What is happening to me?
  17. So if someone did £30,000 worth of damage to YOUR house or business you would be happy for them to get a community service punishment? Yay! Yet more Stu petty insults! So if that coin hit your child in the eye and blinded them would you be happy with the person picking up litter for two months?
  18. You ignored the £30,000 of criminal damage. Also this may have been their last chance and were told if they did anything again they'd get a custodial sentence.
  19. Why do people persist in calling him Dickinson?
  20. Fully deserved.
  21. No chance. Why would Pardew weaken the side playing someone out of position when he has the money to sign a proper right back? Harding wasn't as great at right back as everyone makes out. At very least one right back will be signed this summer (possibly two).
  22. Sky giving Pompey some more money... http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Stevenage-Tie-Live-On-Sky-1041.aspx First chance for us to see the new look Pompey side.
  23. That was in 1949 when the country had national service and Portsmouth's population increased significantly above its normal level with young men in the navy with nothing much else to do on shore leave on Saturday afternoons. Not the case today. (Also may have played a significant role in the two title wins in that period)
  24. Yet more petty insults! btw the difference is more like £2.7m (£3m for the Championship and £300k for League One), also sponsorship is far higher in the Championship.
