  1. What does "being a Fulham" mean. They have an old ground that is smaller than St Mary's is currently and debts over £100 million. Read the quotes I posted earlier about how high Cortese and Liebherr's ambitions are. Nicole Cortese has plans for the stadium improvement or relocation within his time at Saints so would be before 2020. Every season in the Premiership at St Mary's Saints averaged over 30,000. That was without investment to the team to make it worth watching yet the crowds still turned up. If the team is improved in the Premiership so it is capable of competing then crowds will also go up.
  2. Cortese has said in interview... Saints in those 27 years he is referring to averaged 12th in the top flight. From the quote above would it be right to assume he intends to make Saints a top 6 side and the investment that would take? Nicole and Markus are clearly ambitious and have also said they will completely restructure the academy with significant investment, create a new training ground and increase capacity at St Mary's or even relocate to a new larger, higher spec stadium. They clearly have big ambitions, resources and the intention to fulfill those ambitions.
  3. I don't have an Iphone so haven't played it. I think it only costs £6 and is similar to the PSP version so potentially very good value.
  4. Listen to the interview above. They have much bigger plans and resources than that.
  5. 36:40 onwards http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8565161.stm
  6. It doesn't matter you don't need to buy anyone. The selection screen tells you what you need in terms of spaces. If you have 3 homegrown players then only select 24, if you have 2 homegrown only select 23.
  7. Puncheon and Antonio are both starting in games at the moment.
  8. Yep, no point in a new stadium being 40,000. May as well do that to St Mary's. Cortese saying in that interview that they may move to a new stadium would suggest they'd be looking for roughly 50,000 with better corporate and all round higher spec with better concourses and transport systems etc.
  9. Yep, do as Smirking Saint said and leave spare spots.
  10. He played 6 games for Plymouth. Few Argyle fans could make a good assessment of him in that time, also that would include away games where even fewer saw him. He is a very good player at this level imo.
  11. Nope, that only applies to foreign clubs. Saints can only make him an offer within 6 weeks of his contract end date at the end of June.
  12. I'm Nichh and so is my wife.
  13. Millwall are 1 point behind 2nd place ffs
  14. They got 15,000 for their last Scottish Premiership game.
  15. Same could be said for next season with Saints.
  16. 1977/78, 2002/03, 2006/07 ?
  17. Why? Brighton was the first game at The Dell in 1898. Hence why it was the last game at The Dell in 2001. They weren't Saints first game 125 years ago in 1885.
  18. Teams like Barca charge a large fee for away games just to turn up. This would put many teams off as it would require a large crowd to break even. Saints at St Mary's in their 125th year should be able to get close to a sell out for such a friendly so worth a try for an opponent of this calibre.
  19. Jaidi and Seaborne are both guilty of a lot of aimless hoofs. Jaidi probably more so. However Jaidi is much better in the air and positionally. Personally if I were Pardew I'd be looking for another centre back partner for Fonte (who is awesome ).
  20. I'd imagine that the club would go for a really big side for this years Ted Bates Trophy as it is the 125th year. It would be a good way to open the season even if there was a high fee to get them to play it would be recouped if the draw of a big team attracted a crowd in the high 20k's like Bayern Munich did at St Mary's.
  21. I can't see it and I've looked REALLY hard. I hope he proves me wrong but is possibly Pardew's only mistake in the transfer market so far.
  22. Nathan Dyer is a regular (35 starts) in a Swansea side that is in the Playoffs of the Championship. He is and was a good player imo
  23. I can understand people saying Antonio and Jones are similar in that they are raw talents. However they are certainly not the same type of player. Kenwyne is a striker and his main attribute is his aerial ability. Antonio is very much a winger and not that good in the air.
  24. ...and with a much better goal difference COME ON MILLWALL ON FRIDAY NIGHT!
  25. They were in the same amount of sh!t. Pompey eased their problems with administration. Southend haven't taken that route.
