  1. So you want the club to tell you what it is doing in the transfer market and you don't want other clubs gazumping Saints? You can't have both. How do you know the club hasn't signed a host of players on free transfers(Calderon, Dickson etc) that will join on 1st July when there contracts run out on 30th June?
  2. No, but my word count on my Mac did in a micro second. The hard copy version is also probably even longer.
  3. Cortese is currently in Malta, I'm sure a few things such as the kit will be announced when he gets back.
  4. There is literally no "news" in that article. Just a vague quote from an agent that Adu would consider a move to England at some point - not even answering the question posed to him! From which the reporter manages to create a 567 word article and then gets it published. A genuine well done to them for actually contacting the agent, but with a quote that means little like that they shouldn't have run a story.
  5. Turkish really is a vile individual.
  6. And cook up a ticket to jail for himself in the process of doing so?
  7. 5) Are you aware that it is the 7th June and pre seson doesn't start until the end of June? Even if players were signed now there is NO training for weeks, so NO gelling can be done.
  8. There is...it tells you the author of the thread under the thread title.
  9. Pre-season training starts in late June. I'm pretty sure today is the 7th June. Pardew, coaches and playing staff are all on holiday atm. How can these new signings you want be gelling with the other players if there is no training for 3 weeks? Saints could be signing players in two weeks time and they'd still get a full pre season. You really do talk crap at times.
  10. It isn't snobbery. You made a judgement on a player and I'm not sure if you have seen him play much (if at all). I have also made a judgement based on seeing him in the flesh numerous times. My judgement may be right or wrong but at least I can point to personal experience. I'll ask again, what is your opinion of Seaborne based on?
  11. I'm not agreeing with you. I'm saying I don't rate Seaborne based on the games I have seen him play. I'm wondering what your reasoning for not rating him is? If we have different reasoning then we aren't agreeing even if the end opinion is the same, as I think you have come to the conclusion Seaborne isn't good in a VERY different way to how I have.
  12. What is that based on? Seen him play much Alpine? I don't think Seaborne is good enough, but at least that judgement is from actually watching games.
  13. What colour shorts do you want? For over 50% of the last 125 years, Saints didn't wear black shorts. What colour socks do you want? There has been no style of sock dominent in Saints history, they have had blue, black, white, red, red and white.
  14. We should have a... Lowe vs Cowling thread and Cowling vs Cortese thread
  15. Wow http://www.cu-fc.com/page/News/0,,10424~2065280,00.html What a mature and professional chairman Colchester have! At least he is apologizing, but only after his email was sent to a Norwich paper. I'm amazed how stupid he was.
  16. Well it is a short holiday for the chairmen/CEO's. Would you not try and do similar if you were them? Better to have a conference in Malta at a 5 star hotel like this... ...than a Holiday inn in Rochdale. Also the link says it is due to a commercial tie in with the Maltese tourism board.
  17. The Football League annual meeting is in Malta 6th to 8th June. http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/20100603/malta-partnership-announced_2245681_2063057 Some Pompey news may come out of it perhaps.
  18. The Football League annual meeting is in Malta 6th to 8th June. Cortese will have gone and he won't be back in England until Tuesday at the earliest, probably Wednesday. He may want to be back in person for rubber stamping a player signing. http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/20100603/malta-partnership-announced_2245681_2063057
  19. I think it is unlikely a member of the playing staff would be privy to most of that information. Likely all be kept between coaching/scouting staff and Cortese.
  20. The Football League annual meeting is in Malta 6th to 8th June. Cortese will have gone and he won't be back in England until Tuesday at the earliest. He may want to be present for any unveiling of kit especially if combined with a player signing. http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/20100603/malta-partnership-announced_2245681_2063057
  21. I don't know why that is. Likely to be more down to the game not interrupting the database correctly than the database itself. In any case for FM10 I had hardly seen him play. For FM11 he will be very different.
  22. Such a shame Corporate Ho only has 3 posts per day and can't reply to everyone that responded to his last post. EDIT Actually he could just multi-quote and do it all at once.
  23. He has already played in this league for Leeds and Colchester and didn't stand out, hence why he is signing for Brighton.
  24. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8723264.stm The interviewer failed to ask the two most important questions Lampitt should be asked. 1) Why has a CEO been appointed now, when a change of ownership may sling him out within weeks? He also isn't running the club as it is still under administration so has relatively little power as AA can overrule him.. 2) It seems odd that the FA's Head of Integrity has suddenly left his job to become CEO at the countries most troubled club. Was this appointment in anyway forced upon the club so the FA can have an inside man? - Surely Lampitt wouldn't lie and may own up if asked that At the FA he was in charge of the department responsible for enforcing transfer regulations as well as ensuring financial probity. He was consulted by police and Inland Revenue officials investigating the club's previous management on suspicion of fraud and tax evasion and has a detailed knowledge of the alleged offences committed and the extent of the investigations. Lampitt also oversaw the FA's investigation of three transfers involving Portsmouth highlighted by the Premier League's Quest inquiry, and the work of agent Willie McKay, who has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the police.
  25. Lets take the last 50 years... Saints higher for roughly 45 years. Pompey on top for 5 years. Those five years of Pompey on top were unsustainable. The two cup finals used players funded by possible criminal means that may yet still force the club out of business. Does that not make it hollow? 7 years in the Premiership and all you have to show for it is a roof over the crappy away end. No training ground, an old decrepit stadium and huge debts which have ripped off the local community and charities. Am I jealous? Certainly not. As for the fans. An average of 18k in a 21k stadium in the top flight of the English League is poor. Pompey had 16k in a 21k stadium for some games last season in the Premiership. Also struggled to sell tickets for the cup semi final and final. Is that the sign of a large loyal fanbase? A bell, a drum and a few renditions of Play up Pompey - does not a fanbase make!
