  1. Yes. Means they can't buy or loan anyone and also can't offer new contract to existing players, so Kanu, James, Rocha, Hreiðarsson etc have to leave. So they will be left with about 5 players and the youth team.
  2. You are allowed to start a season in administration. You aren't allowed to start a second season in administration. Pompey can start 2010/11 still in administration if they don't agree a CVA. They won't be allowed to start 2011/12 if they are still in administration, without a MASSIVE points deduction or just kicked out. That however may require funding to see them through 2010/11 which may not be forthcoming.
  3. Only if they exit admin without a CVA. They can (if they have the cash flow to do it) remain in administration for the next year without deductions.
  4. They just replayed it. He doesn't say anything new.
  5. AA was just interviewed on SSN. I only caught the end where he was being thanked for coming on. Anyone watch it all, what did he say?
  6. No chance, nor will Harding play right back like some have suggested. Either Mills will go on loan or Harding/Mills will be sold.
  7. Here you go... http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/peterborough_united_2_1840/posh_close_to_signing_a_new_left_back_1_652323 Doesn't mean it is Harding though.
  8. Saltash isn't Plymouth(although there isn't much in it). He's a Cornish boy.
  9. Anyone would think you were a hypochondriac.
  10. I don't necessarily want a move to Jackson's Farm. But with ambitions of competing to a decent level for example in 4 years time in the Premier League, the stadium either has to be improved or a relocation required. Cortese has said as much in interview.
  11. Did you not see the rules UEFA are phasing in over the next 5-8 years? Clubs won't be able to spend more than they earn. It is in Saints interest to have as many seats as they can fill and have the highest income possible.
  12. Lot of clubs are expanding or moving stadium in the near to medium term. Saints can't afford to stand still! A few examples... Wolves have in the last few weeks announced £40m revamp of their stadium. Upto 37k with potential for 50k Newcastle not in the Premiership last season Birmingham want to go upto 50k Aston Villa plan to expand capacity Man City plan to extend capacity Tottenham looking for new ground after planning application problems West Ham want the Olympic stadium 2018 World Cup Bid if Successful... Elland Road improved Hillsborough improved Nottm Forest are going to move to a new large stadium. Sheff Weds Ground go upto 45k MK Dons go up to 45k Plymouth go upto 45k (some may happen even without world cup) There are quite a few others!
  13. Because the crowds still turned up over 30k with a team that Lowe didn't invest in. Saints have never in 125 years had proper investment whilst in the top flight. Investment and sucess in the playing squad attracts bums on seats. Hopefully this is what Liebherr will do. Thus 32k is not enough if investment in the playing squad continues in the Premiership. Just read the interview in the Wembley program, Cortese wants the team to be challenging near the top of the Premier League and understands the investment required to do so.
  14. Because Saints should be aiming to be around 8th-12th in the Premier League. With a capacity of 32k it will mean the club when it gets back to the top flight is likely to be a along way from the 8th-12th largest stadium in England. Same with actual average attendances. 32k simply isn't big enough as shown by the average attendances whilst Lowe was in charge.
  15. Well this didn't happen... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Pompey-vow-to-cash-in.6316836.jp Could it possibly be clubs might think "why spend £2m on a Pompey player when in a few weeks if they go bust they will be free transfers"? And in doing so the club doesn't get the transfer money it needs to stop it going bust and show the creditors it can sell players. Catch 22.
  16. The two are intertwined and with new UEFA rules will be even more so in future years. If Liebherr really plans to back the club maybe he will do both without the club incurring debt.
  17. I goto St Mary's to enjoy watching a game of football.
  18. Expansion or relocation is definitely being planned for.
  19. New UEFA rules mean the clubs with the biggest turnovers will be those likely to be challenging. There is lots missing from St Mary's in terms of potential revenue streams. Just compare it to the Emirates or Tottenham proposed stadium. Something like this would create alot of revenue...! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXm2XuXPk6g
  20. St Mary's was never "state of the art" no matter what Rupert Lowe said. Not even in 2001 when constructed. Let alone today! It is also too small for a Saints team with investment and ambition behind them in the Premiership. Saints have never had good investment behind them. If they invest in the team whilst in the Prem it will attract fans. Even with Lowe in charge and not investing in the team, the club was averaging 30k. You also missed the rest of my post... It is sometimes much easier to start from scratch than to make compromises due to what is already in place.
  21. I've got to say I'd prefer a high class stadium at Jackson's farm designed for purpose - rather than bolting on an expansion to an already 10 year old St Mary's where compromises would be made in the design.
  22. If it is true and they want to build a large stadium in the middle of nowhere, it'll be packed with food/drink outlets and possibly associated leisure businesses surrounding the site.
  23. Your club has reached a new low when Gareth Southgate says this of you... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6204164,00.html Admittedly Sky have possibly taken his quotes a little out of context.
  24. The location of a stadium in a city centre or the outskirts has no bearing on this. That is entirely down to the design of the stadium and the fans present at the game.
  25. A stadium would take years to get through development and construction stages. By the time it is constructed Saints may be in the Premiership. If you only start planning for it once you get in the Premiership then you would have to make do with a 32k stadium in the Premiership for a number of years during construction and planning stages. With the new rules about spending from UEFA, the more money Saint's generate the better the team on the pitch will be. A new stadium would help Saints stay there, especially if Liebherr pays for it like the Brighton chairman has with Falmer.
