  1. Why can't he do both? Any good manager would. If Lambert got injured before Saturday Saints would have to change the entire style of play as have no similar player to Lambert. I'm confident if Pericard signs he will be followed with others in different positions that will go straight into the team i.e. a centre back.
  2. Pericard will only be a Rickie Lambert "targetman" backup if he does sign. I think it is a sensible signing. At present we don't have any cover for Lambert what does and would struggle if he got injured and would have to change the style of play by using very different strikers like Papa Waigo and David Connolly.
  3. Why are you comparing him to Fuller?
  4. Well then that would mean we were buying him rather than signing a player at the end of a contract for free. Why pay Carlisle money when a week later it is free? Pericard can't just walk out, I'm sure they'd like him to play on Saturday when he is still under contract.
  5. Which is rubbish and likely to be untrue because his short term contract at Carlisle doesn't run out until Jan 12th or 13th.
  6. It used to be, until it burned down in 1936.
  7. Wiki says 6 foot 1. Not that you should ever trust it unless it cites where the info is from.
  8. Cardiff City are close to financial collapse so the rumour of their interest for a £1.5m player is rubbish.
  9. No he isn't, he is 6 foot 1.

  11. They failed to pay the players again today. SSN now saying it will be tomorrow.
  12. Yep, I have no problem with Pardew sticking with him and trying to improve him as Antonio has good attributes and age on his side. However Papa Waigo atm is a much better player than Antonio.
  13. "Raw" could be a good way to describe him. Abit like Kenwyne Jones was a rough diamond when he joined Saints. He hasn't had professional coaching until the age of 18 so I think there is still plenty of room for improvement with Pardew/Wilkins/Downes helping him. Some people in this thread have forgotten he is still very young and missed years of professional coaching having joined Reading late on from non league football. He has many good attributes such as pace and power. With good coaching he could be a real asset. His decision making is sometimes very poor but that can be coached. Would start Papa Waigo ahead of Antonio but worth Pardew having a good look before the summer and working some magic.
  14. Care to share? Or Tac-tics PM me please?
  15. Especially when you add Lancashire, Saville and Martin.
  16. As a target man replacement for Lambert should he get injured/suspended(at the moment Saints don't have one). If done for that then I see no reason what some Saints fans are getting all wound up about. Ok, he wasn't great when last here in the Championship but he has done well this season at Carlisle and would be a useful squad player.
  17. Always funny to think when another team is linked to a Saints player, their fan forums base opinions using my view of said Saints player on FM.
  18. You were disappointed with 19k against a non league team a few days after Christmas? Middlesbrough vs Man City got 12k Wigan vs Hull got 5k Sheff Utd vs QPR got 11k Pompey vs Coventry got 12k Bolton vs Lincoln got 11k etc etc 19k against non league Luton was a great turnout! Cheer up
  19. I doubt it. He just has the RocketSwanie big bag of player names and he picks one out occasionally and links him to Saints.
  20. I only said RocketSwanie on BBC's 606 forum mentioned these two, so don't blame me for these two unlikely rumours.
  21. Of course it does! Who would you rather see Southampton play, Man Utd in the league or Weymouth in the FA cup? Exeter are just further down the scale than Man Utd but still above a non league team like Luton in the FA cup.
  22. It was against a non league team in the cup so not an attractive tie. Which makes 19k very impressive. 6,000 more than Middlesbrough got against Man City.
  23. 1) Because it is traditional to goto a Boxing day match with family. Around the country Boxing day crowds were all generally alot higher than normal. 2) It was a league match. 3) Luton are a non league team Exeter are not.
  24. It was the FA Cup. For Luton the game was their cup final after years of decline and playing at non league teams stadiums all season. For Exeter although it was boxing day they will have other days out this season. Big away following for Exeter in any case. Peterborough took 8,000 to Spurs. Barrow took over 6,000 to Sunderland in the FA Cup. Also Luton "may" also have more fans than Exeter. (sorry Delldays )
  25. Are you being serious?
