Any real benefit in shutting the chapel?
Matthew Le God replied to ooohTerryHurlock's topic in The Saints
To be fair that is your fault turning up 15 minutes before the game. Even if the line was short you are cutting it fine. -
18,786 Saints vs a non league team was... 6,000 more than Pompey against a Championship side. 6,000 more than Middlesbrough against Man City Most shocking of all... 14,000 more than two Premiership sides playing each other Wigan vs Hull

I really don't have a problem with how they did it. As I said earlier it makes the areas of the ground more densely populated... 3 full(ish) stands and 1 behind goal stand empty >>> (better atmosphere) >>> 4 sparsely populated stands -

Close the lower rows would be better. The further back you sit the better view you have. -

They were on for most of the first half and then had technical problems around 30 minutes and came back on later. -

What news on ticket sales for the Luton match
Matthew Le God replied to brianoneils slidingtackle's topic in The Saints
6,000 more at St Mary's to watch a non league side than Middlesbrough got against Man City. -
Because there is nothing else to do in Norfolk on a Saturday

A crazy man has started a group stating...
-
Why does he need 10,000 people? If he is an idiot enough to do it, then just do it. If he does start getting close to 10,000, Pompey may become aware due to the publicity and ban him from the ground.

Or Millwall fans in 2004 when they were 10th in the Championship and in the FA Cup final.

We have 9 days of transfer window to buy players until the next league game.

Good idea Here is the original that made the national press for inspiration to those that didn't see it...

They are just extensions to current deals on loans. Saints are likely to be in the process of doing that with Antonio.

Its not wrong because it is a Bank Holiday today and the weekend for the next 2 days. Meaning any rubber stamping of deals can't happen until Monday.
-
What point are you trying to argue here? As you said the window is extended until the 1st Feb because the 31st Jan is a Sunday(thus the offices are shut). The offices are also shut on new years day so any deals announced by clubs are only in principal and are still to be rubber stamped on Monday 4th January.
-
They are just deals that have been agreed in principal since the close of the August window. None of them are registered to play as none can be officially complete until rubber stamped when the office opens on Monday.

With Jaidi and Murty injured and Trotman back at Preston it may be the best you will get. More than enough to stop Luton imo.

Lens call for potless Pompey to be shut down
Matthew Le God replied to hottubsaint's topic in General Sports
The Pompey financial director appointed by Al Faraj is a convicted fraudster. Is that "fit and proper"? Should that not ring alarm bells? -
Because it is a Bank Holiday and the FA's offices are shut so no team can register new players until Monday.
-
Most transfers these days are done in monthly installments over a number of years. Pompey now need the cash all upfront which means the price they will get will reduce screwing them even more due to being in a poor bargaining position. Before they could sell a player for £10 million, £5 million upfront and £5 million over 3 years. Now they need it straight away, the same player may have to be sold for £6 million upfront and thats all in a take it or leave it offer.

Fit and proper persons test? Which seems to have failed on quite a few occasions now for Pompey.
