  1. I very much doubt it. The money men at the club might prefer the CL money, but I think most managers would favour a cup win if given the hypothetical choice.
  2. No hindsight about it.
  3. Anyone who said that about Vestergaard or Ward-Prowse were clearly wrong and they have both always shown they have some very useful qualities. If you had to pick one quality that Elyounoussi excels at PL level what would it be? He has looked out of his depth at every quality needed to be of use for us. We'd be better off using Tella and signing Walcott.
  4. Can you define what counts a 'traditional shirt'? Traditions are made and created over time, they are not set in stone. Until the 1960s Leeds did not play in white, so when they switched they moved to something that was not their traditional shirt.
  5. It isn't nonsense. If for example we had Ryan Bertrand rather than Danny Fox in our first season back in the Premier League, then Luke Shaw wouldn't have had the breakthrough seasons he had in 2012/13 and 2013/14. He'd only have had a handful of games, as despite how good he was, Bertrand would have blocked his pathway to regular first team football at least for the first few years.
  6. Saints wore a shirt in that style from 1894 to 1896. Feyenoord were founded 14 years later in 1908, so Saints got there first! 😉
  7. If it wasn't for television you wouldn't be able to watch the game at all next month! 😉
  8. There used to be a time when the FA Cup semi final was not shown live on television at all and the only way you could watch it was going to the match or on newsreels at a later date. Did football have a 'soul' then?
  9. Playing Devil's advocate... 😉👼 1) If Vestergaard left we'd need another 1st team centre back, can't just have 3 with Salisu, Bednarek and Stephens. 2) I have doubts Abraham and Tanganga are realistic signings, nice if we could pull it off. 3) I've seen nothing from Elyounoussi that shows he is capable of performing at PL level. He looked completely out of his depth and lacking any skillset of note. What at Premier League level is something he is good at?
  10. So you think Hojbjerg or Fred or McTominay or Matic or Winks are better than Ward-Prowse? I don't.
  11. 1) 'Chased by Barcelona' - not a very hard chase as they didn't sign him! 2) I'd rather have Walker-Peters 3) Good
  12. No they were not. For example Man Utd - Wan Bisaka, Arsenal - Pepe, Spurs - Ndombele were not experienced established players and all cost £50m+.
  13. He'd improve Man Utd, Spurs and Arsenal's central midfield. All of which have spent more than £50m on players.
  14. He is wrong though, Ward-Prowse in 2021 on a contract until 2025 is worth £50m+. We've seen fullbacks like Wan-Bissaka get sold by Crystal Palace for £50m. He would be an improvement on a number central midfielders for 'top 6/7' teams.
  15. 1) His key pass stats are very good, as is the number of successful progressive passes. Bizarre you fixate on the other ones, which in any case don't automatically equal a negative. Recycling the ball until an opportunity arises is sensible. 2) Yes they do, and it is a very different one to your claims. Why are you dismissive of stats? Why do you value unsubstantiated judgements over stats? 3) That is nonsense, his defensive stats are superb for a central midfielder.
  16. Nope yours does! You have managed a self defeating post there. They were relegated! Plus he was also a youngster at the time, not the captain.
  17. 1) Asking a question for clarification is not being argumentative. 2) You (and others) are resorting to petty, inaccurate and personal insults. 3) Given none of us can go to Wembley, it being on Sunday early evening doesn't really matter. A few beers can still be enjoyed without it impacting on work the next day. Why does a semi final win require getting absolutely hammered?
  18. That isn't our style of play at all. We are one of the most intense high pressing teams in the league. That is the opposite of counter attacking.
  19. No I did not. Asking why something is not a good time, does not mean I have taken a position that it is a bad time or a good time. It was a question.
  20. We we talking about leadership. Keane's team of superstars had lost 5-0 the previous match. He comes into the side, gets sent off and his team of winners loses 6-3 to a struggling team.
  21. Think you will find it was not me that resorted to petty personal insults. All I did was ask questions.
