1) So you think a striker is either in the top 12-15 PL scorers and a Premier League striker or they are an inbetween PL/Championship player. Why can't a striker be a PL striker that isn't in the top 12 - 15 strikers and yet better than Championship level? 2) Your example of Gayle isn't a great one, he is over 30 and at a very different stage of his career than Adams. Gayle at 30 years old has still yet to score more than 6 PL goals in a season. Adams has scored 7 in 29 games this season and is 6 years younger with room for improvement. So Adams has already surpassed Gayle.

1) Only 15 players scored 12 or more PL goals last season. 2) Only 12 players scored 15 or more PL goals last season. Are there only 12 to 15 PL level strikers at the twenty clubs? 🤔 The majority of those 12 to 15 players are at the 'big 6'. Not scoring 12 goals does not mean you are automatically Championship level.

1) Can you not see the contradiction between those two statements? 2) How many goals would he need to score for you to overlook his finishing ability?
-
No it isn't. It was merely a figure to highlight the flaw in your thinking regarding ability in front of goal. Put that aside then. How many Premier League goals does a striker need to score for them to be a Premier League striker?
-
You effectively just said it was though. So if he scored 30 goals in a season but missed a huge amount more then he'd be a Championship striker due to all the misses?
-
How many goals would he need to score for it to 'be enough' to be a Premier League striker in a season?

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester

Hojbjerg and Walker-Peters deals were done separately. It was not a swap deal despite what some Spurs fans think. -

I doubt it. Hasenhuttl has claimed throughout he wants two players for each position, so them doubling up doesn't achieve that. Plus attacking fullbacks generally aren't suitable to be centre backs. Williams for example who we apparently want isn't suitable to play as a centre back. -

Salisu would likely replace him in the starting XI. With possibly another young player coming in to take us back up to 4 centre backs. -

Premier League 2021/22 starts on 14th August and finishes on 22nd May, so pretty normal start and end dates. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12256348/premier-league-2021-22-season-to-get-under-way-on-august-14-and-finish-on-may-22-2022

Ings and Walcott have been playing in the same starting line up... in different positions. So it isn't a replacement.
-
No hopefully about it, his contract at Everton expires on 30th June 2021.

1) Yes it is bizarre to say all academy players are interchangeable like you did. Judge them on their own merits. 2) I've watch entire games of him for our under 23s and I've watched him for Switzerland under 21s.
-
That is a bizarre statement. Not all players are equal in the academy, Janketwitz is clearly towards the top of the pecking order, has done well in the under 23s and is impressing as a 19 year old for Switzerland under 21s.
-
How many 1st team central midfielders do you want fighting for 2 positions? We have far more pressing concerns than improving on Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Diallo and Jankewitz. Any money we have would be better utilized elsewhere in the squad.
-
No, it gives West Ham and Leicester extra resources to further pull away from us. So how is it a good thing?
-
Why is that a good thing?
-
Why do you think that is great?
-
I'd guess Walcott is one of the two players. So isn't unreasonable to think that deal could be sorted before Walcott heads off for the summer.
-
For the 'number 6' role? Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Diallo and Jankewitz is fine for depth there. Others areas need improvement before adding there.
-
Only having a year left on his contract means Saints can't really afford to do that. Ings and his agent are in the position of power, not Saints.

'Smarter and better designer than evolution' By saying that it shows you don't understand evolution. Evolution has no intelligence involved in deciding its path. Smarter than evolution is a flawed statement. The extreme detour of the recurrent laryngeal nerves in giraffes, about 4.6 metres in the case of giraffes highlights that if it was designed by god he is inept. It is easily explained with evolution as the detour is due to their necks growing longer from generation to generation. A design which has them with the detour from day one is terrible design.

I think it is likely they'd have come regardless of Koeman, for the money and challenge of playing in a better league.
