Bertrand is back to play left back, one of Valery, Ward-Prowse or Diallo will play right back tomorrow. Diallo offers cover for left back if needed tomorrow. It is likely to only be for one game until a loan signing is made before the transfer deadline next week.

Is Valery really a good fit as a fullback? I'd prefer to take the lid off and put Diallo in the box!

It only becomes strange if the club doesn't sign a new fullback. It isn't currently strange as the window is still open.

Diallo has the pace and dribbling ability which makes him better suited than Ward-Prowse to be a fullback in our system.

Why is it strange? He isn't good enough for the Premier Legue and Saints are being linked to loaning other fullbacks.

If Romeu is ready to start then Diallo may move to right back. Then he could go out on loan if he is that desperate. But he is only 19 years old so why the rush. If he was 23 and not getting games then he'd be right to look for a transfer.

Then he does not need a transfer... he could have a loan. In any case 3rd choice central midfielder does not equal a 'bit part'. You'd still get a lot of gametime.

In two years time he'll be only 21 years old. That is very young to expect to be a regular in a mid table Premier League team. He could overtake Romeu to be 3rd choice by then, which is no mean feat at such a young age.

Ward-Prowse, Diallo and Romeu have all been performing to such a high level where they shouldn't be dropped. Jankewitz is only 19 years old, he can't expect to jump the pecking order already. If he stays his time will come.
