  1. Armstrong went off vs Burnley with an injury and Vestergaard is ill.
  2. The three of them are ill, only just back from injury and injured respectively.
  3. Not sure why you would think that. In the last publically available comparison of wages in accounts, there was a huge gulf in wages between the two clubs and Premier League rules restrict the increase a team can add to its wages each year so they can't catch up easily even if they wanted.
  4. Les has picked up a stutter late in life. He can't get his words out.
  5. Nope, that bloke looked like he'd just woken up after a day drinking on the streets.
  6. I'd guess his point was that Krueger said in the past it would only happen with regulalr 100% attendance. But 100% attendances don't happen at other clubs for a variety of reasons, yet other clubs still feel it is justified to expand.
  7. No it isn't.
  8. Yep, he is stumbling over questions and looks nervous and worried.
  9. Live stream... [video=youtube;joE-KbBipDY]
  10. Same as always in a cup draw I want... ...the worst team in the draw at St Mary's to give Saints the best possible chance of progression to the next round!
  11. I made no mention of that. I was talking about the quality of the football. If the "big clubs" leave the league, Southampton's income will fall sharply and we'd be watching a lower standard of footballers.
  12. HITC in that article do not claim to be the original source and in the first sentence of the article they even link to where they got the story from.
  13. No need for "probably" in that sentence Batman.
  14. No it wouldn't, it would be a disaster for Saints! Their income would fall significantly and the quality of players we could attract would also decline.
  15. Spain is doing it to "catch up with the Premier League". If the Premier League is already ahead... they don't need to catch up. Nor will this really help Spain catch-up/overtake the PL.
  16. He only turned 29 last month ffs
  17. A positive post!
  18. I'd guess it was more that Cedric has only had 1 week of training at Saints since last season, played no pre-season games since the World Cup, recently had a stomach bug and wasn't fully match fit.
  19. It was not 4-4-2 in the second half, it was 4-2-3-1.
  20. He was isolated in the first half (which isn't really his fault), if we play 4-2-3-1 and have the 3 supporting him he'll be a lot more effective. No harm giving Gabbiadini a try, but I wouldn't be writing Austin off just yet.
  21. I'd go for 4-2-3-1... McCarthy Cedric Vestergaard Hoedt Bertrand Lemina Armstrong Redmond Ings Elyounoussi Austin
  22. He really was superb today.
  23. It was not really 4-4-2 after 55 minutes when the changes were made, it was more 4-2-3-1. Admittedly there isn't a huge amount of difference between 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1, but I think the second half shape was different enough to be classed as 4-2-3-1.
