Souness was the manager who saw Ali Dia in training and thought yep I'll sign him and play him in a Premier League match.

Alternatively... we've tied down key players and that shouldn't be overlooked or dismissed. -
Exactly, loyalty bonuses would form part of the contract he signed in 2016. They wouldn't need to be added later, they are pretty standard to include.

Exactly trousers! Amazing how many fans still don't understand that. -

That photo on it's own doesn't prove it is full contact. They aren't wearing shin pads for a start. Will you ever learn to spell his name correctly before he leaves? It is van Dijk, not Van Djke

Impressive home stadium for a pub side...

If you follow the links from that to the original source of the rumour, it links back to a story from circa 29th June that we discussed at the time. I think it is unlikely to be true. -

He is effectively a very well paid one of these for training games... It also means Forster, McCarthy and Taylor can go to 1st team games and Harry Lewis can benefit from playing for the under 23s.

You know managers also get scouted, not just players? Pochettino & Pellegrino were both at Spanish clubs. -

We have a scout who is solely assigned to Spain. -

You don't need 5 first team centre backs if you play 4-2-3-1. van Dijk Yoshida Stephens Benarek Is enough, if we signed another it bloats the squad too much. Stephens isn't particularly young any more, he turns 24 years old during the season. If van Dijk stays I think we'll start with van DIjk & Yoshida as first choice and Stephens will become van Dijk's partner as the season progresses. If the club view Stephens as being 1st choice material and he has shown signs he can be. Then I very much doubt they'll want to block the path of someone who will be 24 during this season with another player.

I very much doubt that story is true. Indications are that Pellegrino will play 4-2-3-1 next season. We have... Gabbiadini Austin Long Gallagher ...fighting for 1 position in the team. We don't need 5 players for 1 role. Some may say "sell Long he doesn't score enough", but it is hard to see Gabbiadini & Austin being 1st & 2nd choice, so we'll find it hard to upgrade on Long as a 3rd choice. Saints also will be unlikely to close the pathway for Gallagher by signing a 29 year old like Wagner.

If you don't think football is a sub-section of the entertainment industry, then I'm puzzled as to what you think it is! I watch football to be entertained, why do you watch it? -

Odd you've written them off already. Not a patient man Glasgow? (I think we all know the answer to that ) -
Confusing two different governing bodies. It is the Premier League, not the FA that would deal with any transfer issue.
