Ramsdale deal for Saints is progressing... https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1828768019612647737

On what is that conclusion based?

He did not want to stay.

I didn't say you did.

18 year old central midfielder Daouda Traore from Nice, to then go out on loan, I guess to Goztepe... https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Mercato-nice-devrait-transferer-daouda-traore-a-southampton/1503943

There is a plan B even though the style of possession stays the same. He uses 352 and 433 systems and changing upto half the outfield players through subs is a form of a plan B. A plan B doesn't need to be a massive contrast in playing style to hoof it up to Onuachu.
-
He is cheap on his transfer fee because his wages are £150,000 per week. Which makes him hard to shift.
-
I think the 433 he used for most of last season would have a lot more goal threat, whilst still being able to use the possession style he wants. I can understand using the 352 away at Newcastle and in other games home/away vs the top teams. But vs Forest at home, we should have used the 433. I'd rather he didn't try to shoehorn Stephens into the team at the expense of an attacking player vs teams we have a decent chance of beating.

So you think Saints have lots of players Premier League teams will want? 😉😇
-
We are also reported to be including a 20% sell on clause. So if he does get another big move Saints will get a decent amount of it on top of the transfer fee to Flamengo and loan fee to Juventus.

Fictional character 😉 Now try answering the question

Russell Martin's answer on choosing between two players for £20m or one player for £40m doesn't really hold up. He said he didn't want to have players on a lot more money than others. I doubt most players would be bothered if Saints signed a £40m player on bigger wages than them if the quality of £40m player helped them stay up & keep their Premier League level wages vs a 40% wage drop if relegated to the Championship. Better teammates help them keep their own PL level wages if the expensive teammates justify their wages in terms of good performances.

Why do you think Mark Bitcon is not a proper Director of Football? They have spent a lot of money on the scouting setup.
-
Russell Martin said Bazunu is out for 9 to 10 months. That makes it Jan/Feb he will be ready to play again, not the whole season out.
-
Because the obligation would probably be only on the condition that we stay up. It allows him to stay in England, play regularly and help him maintain his place in the England squad.

It was indeed! 😁

Yep, that is what I said in the first tweet. Then messed up the second tweet.

Doesn't make much difference in match going fanbase. We averaged 29k+ last season in the Championship and will average 30k+ this season.

If that were to happen, we'd have a horrendous season every other year. That wouldn't be great, regardless of enjoying the promotion years.

That isn't a question.
