  1. Could still be 35! Those that thought 39 wouldn't be enough were clueless. Yes, Saints of course would drop points and rivals would pick up points, but so much had to go wrong for 39 points not to be enough it was so very unlikely.
  2. We are worth a lot more than £70m. John Madejski sold 51% of Reading for £40 million last season as a Championship club. Saints are a Premier League club in 2013/14, with a bigger stadium, bigger revenues, better training ground, better academy and Jackson's farm.
  3. That can only really happen if you are staying with the same kit supplier and sponsor.
  4. 93% of nearly 500 people is a better poll than most shampoo adverts!
  5. Bloody hell, a positive post from alpine_saint!
  6. The players contracts expire on 30th June, Pompey sign them on 1st July. Pompey are just announcing it now they've agreed to join.
  7. What "important performance metrics" are you using? How about... - 68th in England in August 2009 to 14th in England in May 2013 (possibly could be as high as 10th come Sunday evening) - Significantly increased the value of the business - Staplewood development soon to be completed - Category 1 academy status - Key players tied down to long contracts - Premier League football secured for the 2013/14 season in time for a bumper TV deal Yes, we've had some bad PR over the past 4 years. But overall Cortese has done a superb job, lots of men in charge of clubs with large money behind them screw up, Cortese has achieved a lot!
  8. It isn''t exactly a comprehensive survey. 1,000 people divided over 20 clubs.
  9. Surely you know me by now?
  10. If we are 5th some of the others must be terrible.
  11. I don't think you can put any odds on it, let alone odds of 50/50.
  12. They aren't and Cortese is the reason they aren't.
  13. "Published", what are you on about? It is freely available to anyone, the same as any poll on this forum! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/poll.php?pollid=262&do=showresults If you don't like it known what way you voted, don't vote on SWF polls!
  14. What on earth are you talking about? Anyone can view it... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/poll.php?pollid=262&do=showresults
  15. Difference is... if Saints were to be sold they would be an attractive investment proposition (modern stadium, large matchgoing fanbase, modern training ground they own, Jackson's farm, one of the best academies in the country and a midtable Premier League quality squad) without being passed from crook to crook for a decade and having to be bailed out by a fans trust and dilution of over £150m of debt.
  16. I wish Coventry all the best, but this will go against the grain somewhat... petitions like the one mentioned in the opening post are ultimately pointless, futile and won't make the slightest bit of difference to the situation. We are so lucky this didn't happen... http://www.standard.co.uk/news/saints-are-the-goal-for-secretive-hedge-fund-6615521.html
  17. We haven't had anything even remotely approaching conclusive evidence yet. A lot of speculation as to what is actually going on.
  18. What do you mean "go for"?
  19. He is a major shareholder at Everton, you don't transfer chairman like you do players or managers.
  20. Each place in the league is worth £800k in prize money, so I doubt we'll be messing around. A huge difference in money for the club as we could finish 10th to 17th (technically 18th but that won't happen). The higher we finish the easier it will be to attract players as well.
  21. Would it? Why? The club's value is likely to grow even further in the coming years.
  22. Wigan are playing Villa on the final day. They are both below Saints at the moment. For them both to overtake Saints it would require Wigan to beat Arsenal and Villa and also for Saints to lose to Stoke by 13 goals so Saints drop below Villa on goal difference. Plus Sunderland and Fulham overtaking Saints. Unless you think Stoke will beat Saints 13 - 0 on Sunday, we are safe.
  23. That isn't correct, mathematically we are not safe. Albeit it is very, very unlikely we will go down as it would require us to lose extremely heavily to Stoke (to put us below Villa) and Wigan, Sunderland and Fulham overtake us.
