  1. So something like this then...? Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin Ramirez Osvaldo Lallana Lambert Subs: K.Davis, Yoshida, Chambers, S.Davis, Cork, Ward-Prowse, Rodriguez
  2. Journalist #1: In terms of what you thinks achievable this season for this team, what would you like to see them achieve? Wanyama: Obviously first is to just do better than last season and then we will see what will happen. Journalist #1: Do you think thats possible? Wanyama: I think yeah its possible. Journalist #2: Do you think Champions League football is possible with Southampton? Wanyama: Yeah, I believe one day, you know, everything, step by step, then I believe one day we will be also there. ................. Is that really something to cringe at? He was asked a question, he gave an answer. He didn't start the Champions League talk, a journalist started that line of questioning and he gave an answer. He didn't say "Saints will be in the Champions League next year". What would you prefer him to say to such a line of questioning?
  3. If you don't know the context of the answer, how can you make comments like this criticising Wanyama...? You can see his answer in context at yesterday's press conference on Saints Player. I'd watch that before cringing at "constant rhetoric". It is the media that keep asking Pochettino and the players questions about the Champions League, it is not the Saints 1st team coaches and staff that bring it up.
  4. What would you prefer him to say after being asked such a question?
  5. Can they? How? In any case Wanyama didn't even make a prediction. What would you prefer him to say after being asked such a question?
  6. It was a live press conference streamed on youtube, it finished over an hour and a half ago. It'll be on Saints Player later.
  7. No I didn't, you've made that up.
  8. It will be released on 31st October 2013. - a beta version will be avaialbe for those that pre-order 2 weeks before release - a free demo will be available to everyone 1 week before release [video=youtube;oQqV1v-BaA8]
  9. I doubt we'll see much of him in the Premier League unless lots of injuries and suspensions kick in. He is adding to depth of the squad outside the matchday 18 and I'd guess he'll play vs Bristol City later this month.
  10. No he didn't.
  11. Its not been announced by SI or SEGA yet.
  12. No, Saints financial mess in 2008 and cashing in on the Bale clause early to drag it into 2009 was part of the chain of events that led to Liebherr taking over.
  13. That chain of events ultimately led to the Liebherr takeover, so does it really matter now?
  14. Very strange logic used in that article's headline.
  15. Have Sharp (or Martin, Tadanari Lee, Barnard, Forte) been seen training with the first team at all this season in training videos or photo galleries? No
  16. If you use the "Fulham are in London" argument, does the same apply to Crystal Palace? Both of them don't have the facilities at the stadium/training ground/academy/Jackson's Farm land that Saints do, nor the fanbase size.
  17. Southampton Football Club has never legally been in administration, so it has never needed a CVA. This is where you can stump Pompey fans with the difference between the two situations, because both Portsmouth FC and the holding company CSI were legally in administration during their last financial crisis. That led to a CVA being needed to dilute the previous failed CVA.

  19. Very selective in what I said Mr Hypochondriac, Shaw and Clyne didn't play vs Norwich.
  20. Pochettino doesn't use wingers, the width comes from very attacking full backs like Shaw and Clyne in the 4-2-3-1 system.
  21. AS Roma announced on their website the fee is €15.1m which could rise upto €17.1m.
  22. His 3 goals and 3 assists were useful. That equaliser away at Reading for example earning a point. Yes, he wasn't any use in the Premier League last season and was out of his depth. But I maintain he served a purpose as an impact sub in the Championship. As a signing for a Premier League team he isn't great, but Saints signed him to help get to the Premier League and he did play a part in that, so he served the purpose he was signed for.
  23. This is not the official Derby County FC account...
  24. He wasn't great, but was still used a lot in from the bench in a promotion season. He served a purpose and was out of his depth in the Premier League.
