Did I say he did? I merely asked him to explain the logic behind giving something so flimsy its own thread. If everyone did that we'd be drowning in random threads of no substance (more so than we do already ).
-
Explain how this warrants having its own thread? There is no credible source given, just some randoms twitter.

Yes, for 59 years in a row from 1891 to 1950. So if people talk about a "traditional Southampton kit", what about these new black shorts that we started using after the club had already existed for 65 years. Black shorts for Southampton Football Club in 1950 were completely new, a Saints Web Forum in 1950 would have imploded over the change from blue shorts to black! If Saints wear an all red it for the next 65 years that will over time become the "traditional Southampton kit" and any change in 2078 to the kit will be met with "it isn't our traditional kit".

Man Utd have white shorts and black socks.

The author of the article doesn't know really know that, he is basically summarising each teams possible transfer activity using transfer rumours from other sources. "Cagliari's Davide Astori might well be done and dusted fairly soon" "There is talk of an imminent deal for Uruguayan winger Gonzalo Bueno"

It's a game you fcking geek!

He is too old now to ever play for them again. You should be more worried about Luke Shaw and James Ward-Prowse in the future...
-
A significant number of factual errors in that article.

They got planning permission in May to add further camera position and extend the roof...

The spectator stand at Staplewood training ground in the New Forest is taking shape...

We signed him on a free transfer in 1975.

No, it is meant to be a "joke".

Alpine if the club was "asleep in the summer" explain why they are paying for Mitchell and Green to be in Israel scouting the Euro under 21 tournament...
-
You've got to do all that in 1 year Lighthouse! Because this thread will be bumped in June 2014 when Alpine creates his next broken record thread.

Different Ownership and Managment, same old summer
Matthew Le God replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Well you started a thread in the Championship season about the signings we made in the summer of 2011 not being good enough/in enough numbers or signed early enough and we ended up winning 6 of the opening 7 games, were in the top 2 all season and were promoted to the Premier League! So at least I have some hard facts on my side, what about you...? -

Is it good to be consistently wrong at something? -
He still won't "get it" even when confronted with all these nonsense threads he starts each year.
-
Why does that "reassure you"? You were badly wrong about the 2011/12 season and so was anyone on the first page that agreed with you! What about when Saints won 6 of their opening 7 league games of the 2011/12 season? Or being in the top 2 for the entire 2011/12 Championship season as a newly promoted club and being promoted to the Premier League despite only signing Fox, De Ridder and Cork in the summer?

SFC still run like a crappy seaside B & B
Matthew Le God replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
So you say there is no evidence of Saints doing anything on the transfer front. Then when someone mentions we've been linked to numerous players you claim it is "journalists clutching at straws". Do you have any evidence to back up such a claim? You are just twisting everything to suit your negative agenda! Cheer up Alpine ffs! 4 years ago we were on -10 points and 68th in the English football pyramid. The owners/Cortese clearly know what they are doing. -
Can Southampton break the top four next season?
Matthew Le God replied to JPTCount's topic in The Saints
Have you forgotten that Ramirez played an important role in a number of games helping us gain points? He really didn't do as badly as lots on here make out. I still maintain he is our best player. -

Matthew Le God replied to JPTCount's topic in The Saints
Why do you disagree with that? Last time I checked Saints were in the Premier League for 2013/14 and Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Rodriguez, Davis and Ramirez all played a big part in that. Gazzaniga, Mayuka and Forren less so, but they are all young and can play a role in future seasons. So yes, objective achieved!
