If they joined at 17 and didn't play any academy games, then I'd agree they aren't academy products. But Best, Blackstock and Stephens all played a season for a Southampton academy team. Yes, they didn't join aged 7 or 8 and train with the academy for 10 years like some do, but they still had at least a year in our academy. That makes them academy products imo.

Nathan Dyer often overlooked by Saints fans, but was a regular in a team that finished mid table in the Premier League last season. Why are you discounting them? They all played at least one season for Southampton's under 18's.

The datalock was 24 hours after the revelations of the BVI loan. The pre-order beta is available very soon and the free demo a week later so you can see for yourself. From what I remember of it, there was a player unmarked in the middle of the goal because the centre backs were out of position. A player unmarked directly infront of goal is more of a threat than one on the far post. You can't blame Shaw for it, he did the right thing by reducing the main threat and is not his fault the player on the back post wasn't picked up.

He went into the middle because that is where the main threat was, as Seaborne was out of position. Very harsh to blame Shaw for that!

It was Calum Chambers. The MUTV commentator had Chambers and Curtis mixed up all game (as he did with lots of other Southampton "facts").
