It is possible to have numerous targets all at once. We don't know what else he is planning. Harding and Dickson aren't really Premier League quality, so maybe Adkins wants Fox and Buttner as his left backs and will let Harding and Dickson go and have Shaw for the future.

Read the title of the thread you created! You called it "Press conference today?" http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?38754-Press-conference-today You then go on to say "according to this" and link to a thread that doesn't mention a "press conference" at all. YOU are the one that brought up the phrase "press conference".

I've asked a Dutchman to translate it for me... Büttner: "Southampton wants to chase Man City." Alexander Büttner currently only has one wish: that Vitessse reaches an agreement with Southampton to seal his transfer. The leftback trained on Sunday for his employer from Arnhem, but there's a real possibility that that was the last time. "I want to go to Southampton", as the defender said curtly (loosely translated here). "I am waiting to see if the clubs reach an agreement, but I count on Vitesse's cooperation. Büttner has a contract that expires at the end of the season and can count on the interest of several clubs. Southampton was taken over by a billionaire in 2009 and got promoted to the Premier League last season. The Saints appear to be willing to pay the most under the leading of the billionaire. "It would be a very big disappointment if this didn't happen" says Büttner. "I've been in Southampton and everything - even the living conditions - is perfect. The club, the stadium and the reception really surprised me. Beautiful. And Southampton has major ambitions. With the new backer they want to chase after Man City."

They had their media things done in the Markus Liebherr lounge on Sunday...

Read Buttner's statement in the context it is written and it is clearly talking about the club's overall ambitions and resources, not just in one off games like the opening day of the season. You are the man that translated booking a hotel conference room into there being a press conference today. Two completely different things and also an English to English translation! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?38754-Press-conference-today

Showing them the stadium, showing them the plans for Staplewood, showing them the potential St Mary's redevelopment... Telling them and giving them the impression we are aiming to compete at the top with Manchester City...? http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.soccernews.nl%2Fnews%2F160537%2FBüttner%3A_Ben_in_Southampton_geweest_en_alles_is_perfect&act=url As Google translate isn't great, I've asked a Dutchman to translate it for me...

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
Matthew Le God replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
What have you based that on? -
We discussed that 3 days ago when it was "news".

Just goes to show "tradition" is quite short term in some people's eyes. A lot of people consider Leeds to be traditionally white or Coventry sky blue. That "tradition" happened in the 1960's. Early on after those changes I'm sure you would have people like we have Saints fans at the moment complaining about Leeds and Coventry not sticking to the pre 1960's "tradition".

Reading are better equipped for the Premier League than Southampton
Matthew Le God replied to Elmore's topic in The Saints
Tadanari Lee will seem like a new signing in terms of adding to the squad strength over the course of next season considering how little he played last season due to his injury. -
For 59 years Saints wore blue shorts and blue socks. Why aren't you calling for a return to blue shorts and blue socks?
