Hammond will probably be 4th choice central midfielder behind Cork, Schneiderlin and Davis. That is also likely to see him lose the captaincy either to Steven Davis or Jose Fonte. Hammond may well stay this season, but the club won't want to block the route for Ward-Prowse into the first team, so Hammond will probably depart soon(ish).

Can be used as a striker, which Palace did towards the end of last season. -

Of the players you listed, only De Ridder is a proper right winger. You could raise doubts over all of them making it for an upper half Premier League team, which is clearly the aim for Saints in the near future. Since Chamberlain left the club, right midfield is the position Saints have had most trouble finding someone to fill. As highlighted by the large number of players used last season with none of them really claiming it as their own with any real success. Guly Do Prado probably came the closest, and he really isn't a winger/wide midfielder at all. Plus, it is possible to do more than one deal at the same time. Signing a right midfielder doesn't mean necessarily that signing a GK or CB won't happen. -

22nd June they said Steven Davis was a Saints target, 6th July he signs for Saints. A case of throw enough mud and some sticks, or maybe they actually know something...? -
Well yes, it is The Sun, BUT they got the Steven Davis story right... 22nd June http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4387392/Southampton-ready-to-table-an-interesting-offer-for-Steve-Davis.html 6th July A case of throw enough mud and some sticks, or maybe they actually know something...? Catching up to the levels sold under Rupert Lowe and they still have 3 weeks left to sell more! Looks like it will be difficult to get a ticket close to match-day with only 7,443 seats left and shrinking all the time...
-
It gives you numbers on the ticketing website of what has been sold in each block. You get a colour coded seating plan of the entire stadium and can see which seats have been sold so far.

And some people think I'm deluded... pfc123 and Corporate Ho were on a different level earlier in this thread!

- Was a regular for a mid table Premier League team last season - Only 23 years old - Recently an England under 21 international - English - Cost Spurs over £5m three years ago and they'd want to recoup that £5-6m is the sort of price you should expect to pay for such a player in 2012. -

That is the kind of price you should expect for a 23 year old English player that was a regular for a mid table Premier League club the previous season. He even cost Spurs a similar figure to that 3 years ago... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_utd/8144711.stm -
I have made no comment on whether Turkish is right. I didn't even know Turkish posted as del bianco on the Ugly Inside when I made my original comment. All I've said is it is foolish to base your view on the credibility of someone telling you something solely on their post count. I'd quite like this rumour to be true, I think Kasper Schmeichel is a good keeper.

1) I haven't told anyone to shut up. I merely said this is off topic (it is a Buttner thread), I am more than happy to continue this if someone starts a thread about QPR's stadium in the Lounge forum. 2) A QPR fan brought up their new stadium (in this Buttner thread), not me. 3) I haven't been "proved wrong". If you want to discuss that then start a thread in the Lounge.

and again... Go to the lounge.

I'll try again...

You've just admitted they didn't sell out every game in a 18k stadium. Which indicates the demand isn't there, if they can't sell out a 18k stadium against Wigan and Stoke how full would a 35k stadium be against Wigan and Stoke? They were even some way below 18k capacity in their Championship winning season, compared to Saints at over 26k. ...anyway this is now very much off topic so I'll leave it there. Start a new thread if you want to discuss it further.
