Why does that matter? Other teams have been given -10 points which pretty much guaranteed their relegation and they still played on professionally. Every season you get teams that are relegated before the final game and they still play through the final games of the season with no problem.

Cheer up Championship 7th March 2011/12 1st Southampton ... The rest ... 24th Portsmouth

Saints are on the verge of a second promotion in two years, whatever the transfer strategy it seems to be working extremely well. Stop being so negative! Is it not better that Reed deals with stupid bids from Ipswich rather than wasting Adkins time?

I think he was talking to Andy Crosby, not Nigel.
-
He doesn't say that at all. He says "I also signed", i.e. when Jewell was Wigan manager he signed Connolly.
-
Yep, he said that before we played them earlier in the season as well. Really is amazing Jewell thought that was ever going to happen. He hasn't a clue.

Another player to leave on loan...? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Leeds-boss-offers-Luke-Varney-escape-route-from-Portsmouth-article874440.html

Why no Richardson? All he got was a bloody nose.

Where have you got that from Gemmel?

Southampton are already mathematically safe from relegation. It is impossible for enough teams to get more than the 62 points Saints already have. It isn't a case of merely looking what 3rd bottom need to get, other teams will be taking points off each other and there wouldn't be enough points available to mean positions 2nd to 22nd can all overtake Saints. -

As Steve says above, without a club the covenant is pointless. It really is a futile gesture by a council that can't be maintained long term. At some point the land will be developed for housing/offices/supermarket etc just a matter of time. Plough Lane in 2012... Fratton Park in 2014...?

He actually said "a couple of weeks".

The rivalry would still exist as we would become rivals of any AFC Portsmouth that gets formed by their fans. It is in the Football League rules that all their results would be expunged. Meaning... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?14620-Pompey-Takeover-Saga

AFC Wimbledon technically (although many may feel otherwise) aren't a club replacing one gone out of existence, they are a protest club (with MK Dons still existing) so had to start lower down the leagues. Any new Pompey team would be a replacement and so will likely be treated differently as talks between Pompey Trust and the Conference have suggested and like they also did when some Saints fans looked into this eventually if required for Southampton in 2009.

It continues to amaze me how many don't see what Schneiderlin's role in the team is. He is often used by Adkin's at the base of the diamond to sit in front of Hooiveld and Fonte and provide a screen for the defence. He is a defensive midfielder and is very good at winning the ball in the tackle and starting Saints on the attack with his range of passing.

Nor were any Japanese European based players of note I believe. Weren't they all pretty much from the J-League?

tbf he is a current international with over 20 caps for Norway and was signed from a Serie A club - Bari.

52.3.2 Up to 4 loan Players (Standard, Emergency or Youth) may join one Club from another Club in any Season. An additional Youth Loan Player may be added to this figure. How many have they had from West Brom now? Do the rest of the Football world want to do business with them, or just Appleton's former boss?

A lot of it is debt carried over from the last admin, not new debt.
