His role means he will rarely get into the position to have a shot. Getting him to shoot for shootings sake from long range when better options are available to him, is a daft idea. Why do they? Saints got promoted last season without two central midfielders getting 5 or more goals. As long as they are in a team that creates chances and scores goals collectively you don't need to assign a goal target for each position, especially if it disrupts the overall performance of a tactic.

Cork played for Burnley in a very different role to how Schneiderlin does for Saints. He is good at getting forward and very good on the ball. Cork can be the box to box player and Schneiderlin the holding player. Should compliment each other very well, with Lallana and Chamberlain on the wings the midfield looks balanced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdMhFjcjGO8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNvOJ3Kqd6c&feature=related

His game as the midfield anchor, sitting in front of the back four for most of a match? It really doesn't matter if he doesn't score, it simply isn't his role in the team to get forward into positions where he could score that often.

Discuss the away kit.

Not me with the "nuts statement". You are confusing central midfield in a 442, with a central attacking midfielder in a 4231 formation. The latter is not looking for a "box to box" player like Chaplow as you state. The role behind the lone striker needs to be a creative very attacking player, ala Lallana or Guly. I didn't say for them to play in central midfield, the 4231 formation doesn't require the central player in the 3 behind the striker to be particularly defensive and thus isn't a typical central midfield role.
-
Hammond and Chaplow aren't suited at all to that role, they are central midfielders, not central attacking midfielders. Of the current squad, Guly and Lallana would be best there.
-
I think it is more likely to be the other way round. Saints don't want to sell and will be telling Arsenal to go away.

Revealing Adkins comment on Player about memorial cup
Matthew Le God replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
I think its safe for him to say the team that came 6th in Spain and 13th in Germany will play a better standard of football than anyone in the Championship. -
Neil Mellor scored 13 League One goals in 2010/11.

Did you talk to the ticket office manger? I would have if someone said something so ridiculous to me. This method doesn't stop people cheating the system. The only way they can do that is to have ID checks on the turnstiles, which will never happen.
-
Unless the stewards are going to ask for ID on the turnstiles for every game, it is a futile act to do so when the ticket is purchased.

Saints vs Saints (St Gallen) tonight
Matthew Le God replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Chelsea vs Pompey today used a team for each half... Chelsea: Turnbull (Hilario 46); Ferreira © (Bosingwa 46), Kalas (Chalobah 46), Ivanovic (Terry 46), Cole (van Aanholt 46 (Bertrand 71)); Clifford (Benayoun 46), Mikel (McEachran 46), Zhirkov (Lampard 46); Sturridge (Anelka 46), Malouda (Kalou 46); Torres (Drogba 46) It is quite a common practice in order to give game time and fitness building for the whole squad early in preseason. -

He isn't in the the stronger line-up. He is in the weaker 2nd half team. -

A pre-season game he came on in the 81st minute. What did you expect him to do in 10 minutes? -

I think it is likely that the West Brom and Yeovil games are where you will see the first XI play together for a significant part of the game. The St Gallen, FC Biel, Werder Bremen and Athletic Bilbao games will see a mix up of the first team squad in order to get the whole squad fit and back playing football. -
So how long did you think the seats would be reserved for? What if the club reserved thousands of seats until 5th August and not all were renewed? It has to end early, thus that is why every club including Saints under Cortese in 2009/10 always does so.
-
Quite a significant and relevant admission tucked away in the brackets. Plus Antonio didn't have Guly to compete with.
-
The OS in the original article even gives a "from" and "until" for renewals... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2370990,00.html Sounds clear to me.
-
Not "completely different" at all. Every club has a renewal period that ends before the seats go on general sale. It isn't a general sale if season ticket holders still have a claim over their seats from the previous season. That claim (and the discount price) needs to be removed in order for it to be a "general sale".
-
Very similar price to what Agustin Delgado cost.
-
Can you name a club in England that sets aside a renewal period and then allows renewals (at discount price) whilst on general sale? It is a standard football practise to do it this way and was the same for Saints last season and many previous seasons as well. Not at all. It is the same way Saints and other clubs always handled renewals and new season ticket holders. It would have been more of a surprise if they reserved season ticket holders seats during a general sale until 5th August. That wouldn't make much sense as good seats may end up not being sold, so you need a renewal period that finishes before the final date.
-
The PFA have no power to stop it. Some players for teams like S****horpe last season would be on tiny wages. Also how much does he think Ben Reeves and Ryan Doble are on? They are both Championship players for Saints with the 1st team in Switzerland, their contracts will be easily below £4k (I suspect a long, long way below).
-
Yes, there are plenty (although depends if your definition of "plenty" matches with mine ). Why do you ask?
-
You can't blame the club for that.
-
How many minutes of game time have you seen Forte play? How many starts? He has hardly been given a chance in order to make much of a judgement. Plus he has played roughly 100 games at Championship level and thus far more experience at the level Saints are competing at this season than Antonio has.
