I wasn't the one that mentioned the Nazi's. You did in post #96! All I said was "fascist". So yes, on this matter I do know more, because you have misread what I said and assumed I was talking about the Nazi's when I made no such comment.
-
In his autobiography he praised Mussolini as "basically a very principled, ethical individual" who was "deeply misunderstood". He has also said "I am a fascist, not a racist."... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1506262/Im-a-fascist-not-a-racist-says-Paolo-di-Canio.html Don't try to defend the indefensible.

Strange that some West Ham fans think a man like Di Canio that publicly admitted to being a fascist would be a good manager for the club. Would that bring unity and togetherness in the dressing-room? Would be quite a change in direction for the club after having Avram Grant as manager!

Which is why Tottenham Hotspur and Leyton Orient are taking them to a judicial review.

Did we miss a trick not doing one of these for Pompey? It may seem petty on the face of it but I've got to admit it is a little funny. I suppose there is still ample opportunity in the coming months as this thread is a long way from ending. What would you put on a banner? The timing for this one was perfect, as it flew over the DW Stadium today just as Wigan equalised.

The usual list of out of work managers and former West Ham players. Chris Hughton is the current favourite... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/west-ham-specials/next-permanent-manager Danny Dyer is 500/1 Ray Winstone is 500/1

Karen Brady gets angry with a kid (possibly her son?) at the end of this video for being too slow, even though his route was obstructed... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13406828.stm Was she desperate to get to Avram Grant as soon as possible to do her Lord Alan impression?

It's a new contract for Adkins!!

You should point out to him Sam Allardyce is 56 years old!
-
I doubt he'll be given another chance at a Premier League club. He clearly isn't up to it, will be interesting to hear yet more excuses from him today like he always did at Pompey.
-
They have a lot of work to do before they will be considered a "big threat". They are £100m in debt, will likely be sacking their manager and looking for a new one, will be selling a large number of their best players and rebuilding a team from scratch in the summer.
-
Not in that colour though.
-
I'm not infallible by any means Nick! Will teach me to rely on the Wikipedia squad lists and rushing a post.
-
Why? Cortese said in the dinner parties and this scout has now confirmed it, that the Champions League is the aim. Thus that is the long term business model.
-
You do know Nigel has had two full seasons managing in the Championship before don't you?
-
Yep, I know it would be many years before Saints could really even consider such a push if it were indeed possible for such a club. Need to get to the Premier League first.
-
That isn't £300m on the players though is it?
-
Have Arsenal spent that much to assemble their current squad?
-
I haven't passed comment on Puncheon's ability in this thread, apart from saying Lallana and Chamberlain are better than him. That doesn't mean I think he isn't a good player or not worth much. Puncheon has clearly shown he can do a job in the Premier League, but I believe Lallana and Chamberlain would do an even better job in the Premier League as they are better players.
-
Is it always going to be now? Or will time tick on?
-
Not at all... Did Everton spend £300m on transfer and pay £90k per week to players to get 4th spot a few years ago? A good manager, academy and sensible recruitment got them to 4th a mere 6 years ago. Yes, the League has changed since 2005, but with sound infrastructure and sensible planning, it isn't beyond the realms of possibilities especially if Man City, Chelsea etc run into trouble with the UEFA regulations. A mere 15 years ago, Chelsea's attendances in the Premier League were lower than Saints in League One this season.
-
Who said you have to follow the Man City model? A model that isn't sustainable in the long term, especially when the new UEFA regulations come into force. (took you long enough to reply to this thread! )
-
So you think Puncheon is better than Chamberlain and Lallana? Because they are the reason Puncheon got upset, he knew he wouldn't be getting a game and would be on the bench in League One.
-
11 years ago Man City were in League One.

All I did is state what Cortese has said in a public interview. He talked about developing the land around the stadium and also the possibility of at some point having a train station at the stadium. The gasworks are too far from the stadium to impact on any expansion of St Mary's itself. I see little reason why buying up the industrial estate bit by bit would cause huge problems. It is in the councils interest for the club to regenerate that area of the city and create jobs.
