  1. Yes, it is Lambert.
  2. Have you not seen how ITV cover football compared to the BBC and Sky? It is terrible!
  3. Nope, this guy is signing in Clive Woodward position at Saints...
  4. 18. Counting
  5. Sorry to disappoint you, but ITV and ESPN have the FA Cup rights, not the BBC. The Saints vs Man Utd game is on ITV.
  6. You rang M'Lord?
  7. I just listed them quickly to beat Saint Clark to it (but failed ). It still shows that Gemmel was wrong though.
  8. Oxlade-Chamberlain's younger brother also at Saints.
  9. Nonsense! So why are Ramsey, Traore, Afobe, Emmanuel-Thomas, Evina, Hoyte, Randall, Bartley, Coquelin, Miyaichi and Watt all currently out on loan?
  10. That is why I said "not involved in the initial deal".
  11. Don't write misleading things then! If everyone on this forum did that the place would be a mess...oh wait...
  12. Forecast was not involved in the initial deal. Bale left in May 2007. Forecast joined in July 2008.
  13. Alternatively... keep Chamberlain as the winger and buy a striker with money you had and were going to spend anyway.
  14. No player rumour thread is complete until it has a Youtube highlights video...
  15. You weren't just sharing. You gave it a very misleading introduction. It isn't "according to Sky Sports" at all. It is "according to a random person somewhere in the world that emailed Sky Sports".
  16. But if Saints were going to spend money in this window anyway the money from Chamberlain is irrelevant and he may as well stay.
  17. Full interview at the bottom of the page... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/9269293.stm They are quite key facts though to be getting wrong! Saying a player is at a teams training ground when he is actually with his current team on a coach preparing for a match really makes you doubt the credibility of the whole rumour. Wenger makes no mention of any deal being even remotely close, the journalist justs puts to him an unsubstantiated claim that Chamberlain wants to go to Arsenal and Wenger pretty much says thats interesting we'll look into that as I like the player. That by no means Chamberlain is off soon.
  18. I've answered all of this already. You said you read my posts, it seems you haven't. When Cortese made that statement 3 weeks before start of transfer window and 4 months after Alex signed a deal until 2013 with Saints, Cortese would have been fully aware of Chamberlain's intentions for at the very least the short term. btw I've seen you mention a few times that Adkins refused to say Chamberlain is staying. You clearly haven't watched the full interviews on Saints Player as he does exactly that. You have just read the edited down versions.
  19. Well you clearly didn't read post #586 and that is the reason I won't take you up on your bet. We have had no reason so far to doubt Cortese's word, and he has said Chamberlain and Lallana won't be sold in January. If he is sold then we maybe can start to doubt him. However we still have 8 days left to test that and at the moment with Lallana given a new 4 and a half year deal and CHamberlain still here 23 days into the window things look promising... You also say "in the face of mounting evidence", however some of this evidence can and has been easily shown to be ********. i.e. that Chamberlain was at Arsenal's training ground on Friday - when he wasn't and he was actually with the Saints squad on the way to the Tranmere game. So please cut out the petty insults about me and a football management game I happen to research for. It is completely irrelvant and it is pathetic to even bring that up in a debate like this. At least I'm not the one that seems to go by the philosophy that if Fleet Street say enough **** some of it is true.
  20. Cortese wouldn't have said those things 3 weeks before the window opened unless he knew the view of Alex and his father. Cortese would have been fully aware in December there was a very good chance a very large team would place a bid. Cortese would be foolish to say he won't be sold without knowing beforehand through discussions with the Chamberlains that Alex would stay even if someone like Arsenal came in for him in January. In any case £5m with £5m at a later date is not a good deal for someone that has over 15 years as a top player left and plays for a team which is funded by the estate of a billionaire. If Saints are spending money whether or not they sell players, why sell their best players who still are under contract for the next 2 and a half years?
  21. The main reason I believe he will is because Cortese said he would. Cortese so far has done nothing in the last 18 months at Saints which makes me doubt his word. However, if Chamberlain is sold I will find it hard to trust Cortese in the future. For the first time in Saints 125 year history it seems we have people in charge with both the ambition and the resources to back those ambitions.
  22. I'll say it again..for Cortese to say he won't be sold, it clearly shows that he knows there are no clauses in his contract which mean he can be sold. In a mere 18 months time Chamberlain could be a Premier League player on a very large wage...with Saints.
  23. For Cortese to say he won't be sold, it clearly shows that he knows there are no clauses in his contract which mean he can be sold.
  24. So the fact he is under contract until June 2013 and Cortese said he won't be sold isn't a position of strength?
  25. We have plenty of power. He is contracted with Saints until June 2013. Without Saints agreement he isn't going anywhere. Cortese said he isn't going anywhere. There is a very good chance Saints will be promoted this season, and Chamberlain could feasibly be a Premier League player with Saints at the age of 19.
