  1. Irrelevant now as it was rejected and the window has closed. Also discussed in the huge transfer deadline day thread.
  2. However the thread is called "indications for 2nd half of season". Indication being the key word!
  3. Strange logic. The court case isn't until next week.
  4. Well if Plymouth Argyle had sold some more of their Championship team in the summer rather than January, maybe they wouldn't be in as much mess as they are now and maybe they wouldn't have beaten Saints in August!
  5. - Leeds have a huge fanbase and potential. - Pompey had £48m of parachute payments and even now could still go under. Where as Plymouth have crowds of 8,000 in League One, huge debts, not paid players on time for 3 months and most likely trading whilst insolvent. There is a good chance they will skip administration and go straight to liquidation if no money comes from their Japanese investors.
  6. Unlike many other teams in financial difficulty, there is a real chance Plymouth Argyle will be liquidated next week. Even the "safety net" of going into administration maybe unlikely due to a number of factors. Many Argyle fans think the away game to Brentford could be the last ever game for the Green Army. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/plymouth_argyle/9380064.stm http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-12309652 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-12332438 If they are, then their results would be expunged from League One, the league would become a 44 game season rather than 46 and as things stand before tonights game vs Exeter it would in theory look how it does below... 7. He joined over a year after Bale left.
  8. Remember that is the same paper that said Alex Chamberlain was at Arsenal's training ground when he was actually on the Saints coach to Tranmere. Pinch of salt with Fleet Street hacks!
  9. Rather than just locking it, can you delete it so we can all forget it even existed, rather than seeing it on the first page of threads for the next few days?
  10. There is a week gap before it reopens and it is only for short term loans - not ones until the end of the season. If Saints were going to make a decent loan signing they would have already made it rather than wait until the emergency loan window opens.
  11. Time to close this Fleet Street driven thread which didn't happen as they didn't listen to Nicola Cortese's interview in December 2010 with the BBC. Will probably reopen in Summer 2011, but if Saints are a Championship side in 4 months time I think we may have a chance of keeping Alex for longer.
  12. Nope, Saints are finished for the window... "That's it for this transfer window. All done and dusted for both ins & outs. Off home to enjoy the final hour on sky sports news. #saintsfc 16 minutes ago"
  13. More players to come...? Saints Twitter
  14. Well he has also been in and around the 1st team and training with them since early 2010, possibly earlier.
  15. But the club were fully aware of his abilities having been at the academy for the last 10 years and playing against other Premier League academies.
  16. Well Lallana thinks a quick return to the Premier League is possible, hence why he signed a long term 4 and half year deal. Chamberlain signed a 3 year deal in August 2010. Saints could be in the Premier League with Chamberlain still a teenager. Of course if Saints are still in League One next season then Chamberlain along with others like Fonte, Lambert, Lallana and Schneiderlin will leave. However I think it is possible Chamberlain will still play for Saints if they are a Championship side in 2011/12.
  17. I'd imagine they are dependant on each other and will go through at the same time or not at all.
  18. That kind of comment wouldn't interest Sky or Fleet Street though. They just like the League One superstar to a "big club" story. How do you know this anyway?
  19. You don't get some of the biggest clubs in the world chasing you if you aren't very good. Maybe one club might make a mistake in scouting but not when lots of big clubs are tracking you. £10m is cheap for a player rated as an important part of the national teams future by people high up in the English FA and Wenger, Ferguson and Comoli. Especially when you look at £35m+ for 22 year old Andy Carroll who has 5 years fewer playing time left than Chamberlain.
  20. Alex Chamberlain is 10 years younger and any club would get 10 years service more out of Alex then they would with Van Der Vaart! Plus Chamberlain would have a higher potential sell on fee for the same reason. Van Der Vaart's value will only go down from now on, Chamberlain's will rise. Van der Vaart was also surplus to requirements at his previous club, Chamberlain is an important player for Saints.
  21. Well he looks it to me, more importantly he does to senior figures at Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd. Probably numerous other clubs aswell.
  22. No, we haven't made a bid for him. Rocket Swanie on BBC 606 forums where this rumour came from hasn't got one single rumour correct in his many years of trying! The Saints club spokesman on Twitter denies it and has laughed at Rocket Swanie rumours in the past... I'm guessing you didn't read this thread... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27949-Hamidi-Salihi
