  1. Whoops, I meant Bill Green joined Leicester City from Saints in November 2010.
  2. Better to show those from 2010 than March 2013 as his attributes will have changed.
  3. I'd like to take this opportunity to repost this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrO061mzNlQ
  4. David Burke left Saints in early November 2010 and joined Leicester City. EDIT: No he didn't see post #15
  5. Technically if tonights game does finish a draw or a defeat for Peterborough, the lowest Saints can go this weekend is 6th. Though that does require Oldham Athletic winning by any score and Charlton Athletic winning by a huge margin.
  6. Well that is wrong for a start! You can't have over aged players in the under 18's Premier League Academy leagues, he seems to be confusing it with the under 21 development squad (or the Olympics).
  7. So you put this ahead of Lallana on a 4 and half year deal, Guly and Chaplow?
  8. The reason Saints got this guy from the company that did UEFA Champions League marketing was for deals like this. Scott Steadman joins... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2096187,00.html It is not Saints main sponsor, Mercedes are just "vehicle partners" and it is also Mercedes of Southampton, not Mercedes. Will probably have another company on the shirts next season.
  9. Alpine still not answered my question in post #343
  10. Where has the money for the Guly deal, Chaplow deal, Lallana contract and multi million training ground upgrade come from then?
  11. Maybe if that article is indeed correct, Saints didn't think he was worth £1.6m and that paying Austin £12k a week breaks their current wage structure. Spending on a multi million training ground upgrade shows funding is still very much there.
  12. The Mirror have gone from... "Chamberlain at Arsenal training ground" last Friday (even though he was on a coach to Tranmere) and about to leave Saints type stories to... Not even mentioning it in tomorrows article about the 10 biggest transfers they expect to go through... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-gossip-Luis-Suarez-Liverpool-Charlie-Adam-David-Luiz-Chelsea-Robbie-Keane-West-Ham-Phil-Neville-Tottenham-The-10-biggest-transfers-we-expect-to-happen-before-the-window-closes-by-Darren-Lewis-article683719.html The list is hardly full of huge deals, number 8 for example is the West Ham 2nd choice left back being sold.
  13. You have your own version of Godwin's law.
  14. What is this based on? If Saints are "inconsistent", what makes Bournemouth or Huddersfield or Peterborough or Charlton more consistent? The first two are only 2 points ahead having played a game more and the second two are behind Saints. If you look at it from games since Adkins took over, Saints are more consistent than anyone bar Brighton.
  15. You said they had an "80% chance of staying up". Despite only being 6 points above the relegation zone and them being 19th in the form tables and dropping (with a small squad). What was your "80%" claim based on?
  16. At no point have I said that. (ridiculous btw)
  17. Well it wasn't me either. Interesting Papa Shango has no response for #763 which showed him (and a number of other people claiming how safe Blackpool are) to be talking rubbish...
  18. - They are 6 points above 18th place. - They are 19th in the form table and dropping! That is far from safe! Can I now say "Jesus christ " like you did?
  19. That Mirror article uses direct quotes from Ian Holloway. It is when they don't use quotes or say it comes from unnamed sources you need to start having doubts.
  20. 1) Google the words "Blackpool wage bill" or "Charlie Adam wages £10k" and look for yourself at numerous sources. £10k is not much more than Lallana, Fonte and Lambert would be on despite Saints being in League One. Austin would not be a top earning at Blackpool as a 21 year old fitting into their structure. Blackpool are so tight with money they paid all players £90 per week (yep nine zero pounds) in the summer months. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackpool-players-are-paid-just-90-a-week-over-the-summer-says-Ian-Holloway-Exclusive-article427657.html 2) I used the word "may" for a start. But I think anyone in the position of having a young family in the south of England would prefer to stay in the south of England rather than uproot a long distance away from family and friends.
  21. 1) Blackpool's top wage earner in the Premier League is on roughly the same as Saints in League One. 2) Austin also has a young family which he may not want to uproot to the other end of the county from his friends and family.
  22. In a mere 4 months time both Saints and Blackpool could be in the same league.
  23. At no point have I denied Arsenal, Liverpool etc are interested in Chamberlain. They clearly are and it would be hard to argue otherwise given that Comoli has been watching him and Wenger commenting on him publicly. However some papers have been claiming fees have been agreed, Chamberlain visiting Arsenal training ground when in fact he was on his way to the Tranmere game etc etc. There is a difference between the two, the difference being - media bull**** to increase circulation, raise ratings. Whenever someone is struggling to debate with me and they resort to mentioning I research for a computer game it is very similar to Godwin's law...!
  24. Yes - Austin is 21 years old. He has plenty of time to play in the top flight, if he was older then maybe not. - Saints are a much bigger club than Blackpool, there is a good chance both sides could be in the same league next year. - Saints could offer him long term better terms as he progresses. - It is less of an uproot for him as he has a young family. - Ok, Saints can't offer Premier League football but Blackpool may well only have 15 more Premier League games. I doubt he'd play in every one. - If he thinks of the bigger picture of which club will be in the better position at the end of a 3 or 4 year deal, there is only one choice (as long as Saints bid of course )
  25. I wish you had said in the opening post rather than being so vague! I will watch the press conference now. All 22 minutes of it!
