Lot of dross in amongst that, far too much for a club of our size to continually cope with. So long as we stay in the “punt/bargain” bucket we’ll struggle to do well over any period of time in the premier league.

Last 2 or 3? Orisic? Onuachu? ABK who had potential but is made of glass, Bazunu! We’ve had huge luck with Lavia coming off and even he missed significant amounts of football in the last 2 years which badly affected us. Also selling Romeu? Mad.

Of course not but when you’re after a top end target like MOR ( at our level) speed is of the essence. Had we bid closer to what they requested perhaps there would have been a different outcome? This what aboutery is easy isn’t it?

Feels a bit like these stories today have come out so in 3 weeks the board can point to all of the efforts they went to bidding on this higher quality player only to come up short and buy a cheaper unknown alternative. I think the MOR deal needed to happen quickly and be a surprise to others not getting us into a bidding war. Not sure I see his relationship with Russ as being strong enough to bat away Brighton sadly.

Reckon we’d get absolutely annihilated playing that side. The ball would never stick up top and we’d continue to play “our style” messing about with it at the back until Vardy scores a hat trick. I get the idea of saving players but they could just as easily get hurt in training and going into the playoffs on the back of several defeats (with our seemingly mentally weak players) would be putting ourselves in a negative mindset from the start.

Pretty sure Caleta Car was loaned for a year with an obligation to buy. No doubt at a loss for us. Could PO be a useful different option in the championship? End of the day he has no actual pedigree in the game prior to joining us. He’s been a hugely expensive punt taken in order to hopefully make some quick money. If you took away the Liverpool game no one would be able to recognise him as a 20m + signing. Couple this with signing a crocked striker and spaffing 10 million of our budget on a CM project who the manager doesn’t trust … well we are truly in bother.

Or he could stink the place out with a lack of effort not wanting to injure himself before a bigger free transfer in the summer. Shame he’s not sticking around as he’s a decent Heskey sort of support striker. Must find a decent replacement before we do let him go though.
