Ah! Somebody else made it up this time but the Beeb didn't verify the story before repeating it (for which they whole heartedly condemn others most of the time. BBC Verify on holiday?)

This is a match in which we will struggle. Whereas our style of play is unfamiliar to 17 opponents in this league so there is always an element of surprise, the other two clubs Ipswich & Leicester countered it very successfully on both ocassions that they met us last season. Little has changed since then in our style of play and approach to games whereas Ipswich appear to have made a step forward in their progress. Can't see anything other than a continuation of our goal famine and an inevitable defeat, 0-2 sadly.
-
They're going to go hungry then.
-
That's not the problem either as we scored 6/6 penalties last night.

People usually make throw away remarks like that when they feel really comfortable and safe in their jobs. As I said earlier give the guy a chance in th PL. Unlikely SR are in any hurry to start all over again especially as they have had some success with the Martin style of keep ball.
-
Based on his "performance" last night, Wood should be behind the team bus in the luggage trailer
-
Fraser is a lazy sod tonight. Useless, hasn't once run at his man or reached the by-line. Bree improves in every match. Why is Wood in team at all? LALLANA!

Could we not agree that "TP" be referred to as "PO" in future posts even if you can't spell his surname ! Also PO Box 3 has a certain ring about it

The daftest and saddest thread we have had on here for quite a while. There will be a new manager here one day but not now, not this side of Christmas and unlikely even then. Martin has his feet well under the table and will not be dislodged any time soon, nor should he be. Everyone moaned because Nigel Adkins was not given a chance in the PL so be consistent and give this bloke a chance.

I meant Ipswich & Bournemouth NOT Everton
-
Isn't it a tad early to hoist up the white flag? Let's at least wait until we have a full view of the enemy. A win and a draw next week and we'll be half way up the league. Special note for Botley Saint : We are NOT bottom of the table and we play Everton in the Carabao Cup NOT the PL

The only positive for me was that Stephens will not be available for selection for three matches. Hopefully THB or Edwards can grab and keep the place. .
-
In error I said earlier that this match is being shown on Sky TV. It is not.

Comfortable win for Saints despite the fears of many, 2-0

So what, he's already had experience of life for a young kid at a big club and look how that turned out. Nothing to see here, move along now!
-
I remember being quite excited by his appointment and thought we played reasonably well under his leadership. He had plenty of success at other clubs and like many others I hoped he could bring a little of that magic to St Mary's. That wet night at Derby as others have observed might well have moved the needle but it was not to be. His time here was beset with rumours about his personal life style but that was of no interest to me. Good luck George with your fight against cancer. Have faith and stay positive.

It's on Sky so a lot cheaper relatively and no dodgy streams or embarrassing pop ups.
-
That's only for the cameras. Most of the rest of the time probably they spend sitting on their arses chatting and larking about. That's the great thing about all being mates together. Sod the bloody training.
-
Beats me! We tried to rid ourselves of him once but that didn't work out as Bournemouth were no suckers and couldn't be conned. Apparently Martin is….
-
A very bold team selection but Martin does not do bold.
-
Stevens + Aribo + Smallbone?
-
If people think they are what other people think they are then they are not who they think they should be but who they think they should be is not who they really are. This is why they are unhappy being who they really are.

Smallbone played the part of the invisible man today against England. The only touch he had that I saw went straight to an England player. Woeful performance from him, woeful.
