Last night I was outraged by Stephens' coarse idiocy, stunned by Lumley's ineptitude, horrified by the skill-less doggedness of Manning and exasperated by the sheer incompetence and lack of effort of Diaz and Sulemana. What has become of our Saints, the team we used to love and admire, the team that we would follow to the end of our time? This may be Martin's idea of who the Saints are but not in my name, not anymore.

Third match in a row on Telly and this one (relatively) free. Compelling viewing even from behind the sofa. Past caring about the result as long as the palyers play with a bit of spirit and pride.

Be fair, with one or two exceptions our players are awful (sic crap). Very few would get a game at any other PL club.
-
Of course not, decisions usually balance out for and against. It's too easy to focus on the things that didn't go our way and ignore the ones that did. The league table doesn't lie especially after 12 games, i.e. 1/3rd of the season.
-
Unlikely as both players are getting essential PL experience to help their development so another half season will only increase their skill levels and their value. Too early to sell at the moment.

A bore fest if ever there was one. We are a very poor side now.

Juan Larios - Official: Loaned to Deportivo Leonesa
Charlie Wayman replied to AlexLaw76's topic in The Saints
In fairness, he is a very young kid living a million miles away from his family and friends stuck in a strange foreign country that is cold, wet and miserable with not even regular footabll to keep his mind busy. Picking up endless niggling injuries must be tearing his soul apart. Probably he flew to England full of hope and optimism for his future. Instead the cruel wheel of fortune keeps stopping badly for the kid; his head must be in total despair as he contemplates a bleak and increasingly uncertain future. Spare a thought for him guys and gals. Sarcy jokes for a cheap laugh surely should be beneath us. -
How many times must we have this same old discussion this season, we go round and round in circles just frustrating ourselves and getting nowhere, just like Martin and his troup of circus clowns. Folk should just disconnect, stop going to matches and let the idiots upstairs at SMS just get on with it. They clearly regard it is as their club and not ours so why should we worry? Being a loyal supporter for 40, 50, 60 or 70 years proves only what gullible fools we have been. It's hard to quit but it's proving even harder to stomach this insanity.

At the moment we are the second worst team on the south coast. If we go down we could end up being the worst. Think about that, having to tip our hats to Pompey….. That should awaken the fighting spirit at St Mary's. What a hideous prospect.

Other opinions are available. -
I remember we let Harrison Reed go to Fuham to gain experience as Rabbit Hutch deemed him not good enough for Saints. Ironically he will be playing in the PL still when Saints will not.

Brilliant metaphor especially today. Rather them than me at Staplewood today. A new meaning also for the 'stiffs'? -

If that did happen would you claim to be Cassandra? -
Fresh air. Thanks for opening the window.

I find it hard to believe that referees are corrupt in any way. For sure they can can make bad decisions just like the rest of us but it is remarkable how often they get tight decsions right (confirmed by slo-mo) when most spectators miss incidents altogether. Nobody likes decisons taken against against their own team but it's important always to be fair minded.

Interesting point. One or t'other.

i don't think so. If there was a replacement process going on it would be nigh on impossible for Martin not to know. Such a process could not be kept secret. Do you really think he'd hang around knowing he wasn't wanted by the board? Of course not, every person has their pride and self respect. You can conclude from the facts that he is still here and still happy that no such process exists. That is quite worrying as it implies that the board won't begin a replacement manager search in earnest until they have decided that Martin must go.
-
They're expecting that our fortunes will turn a corner soon and everthing will fall into place so that they can crow to the disbelievers that Martin was the right choice and just needed to be given time. The only trouble with that pious hope is that every corner Martin has turned so far has revealed another corner just up the road.
-
Perhaps he can persuade his future father-in-law to join him on the south coast as manager. I'd bet a small fortune that our sloppy play would soon be a thing of the past along with quite a few of the players who take th piss in training.

Are you really fron Earth or am I from Mars? I really have no idea what you are talking about.

How's your short term memory?

As I have suggested before 'yo-yo' is not a plan or strategy, its what happens when you don't have a plan or strategy. If their business model really is buying players and selling them on at a profit, when was the last time that happened? Lavia, Livramento but that was a while back now so they're certainly not making much money on that model. Of the current crop, only Ramsdale, Harwood-Bellis, Walker-Peters and Dibling are remotely saleable and only Dibling is likley to return them a profit. Rather poo-poo's the idea of a business model. The reality is if we go down, those players mentioned and one or two others like Sugawara and Downes will be off anyway probably for the best offers we can get and leaving us as usual with a load of dross unlikely to be good enough to haul us back up onto the cliff top. All in all it looks like they have no plan at all, indeed they're probably making it up as they go along... As for sacking Martin, do they have the money to do it? Is that the reason he is here still? Ah! Serendipity, now that does sound like a plan!

Personally I have lost all respect for the board, small minded people of limited ambition and minimal competence. I hope they do sell up so that we can start a new chapter.
