  1. It would be. If you can't see his quality on the pitch and need to resort to highly dubious statistics to try to make some sort of trolling point it says more about your lack of judgement than Toby's value to Saints.
  2. Sadly the possibility of CL football has long since disappeared* and with it any hope of retaining Morgan (if indeed that was ever a game changer for him). Fair do's though, as our longest serving player he deserves our blessing when he leaves in July. At least we can watch his progress with admiration as we have with Theo & Gareth. Au revoir et bon chance! * Current form (points from last six games) Liverpool 16 Arsenal 15 Man U 13 Tottenham 13 Southampton 7 Which suggests as no doubt we all expect that Arsenal & Liverpool will be the two to qualify, a pointer to where Morgan will end up? Let's just pray it's Arsenal and not the effing thieving scousers.
  3. At least we won't be in a relegation scrap next year with this lot below us.
  4. Reaching the PL would be an amazing feat for Bournemouth and would be a real smack in the eye for all those pundits that claim that parachute payments guarantees that the same few clubs will keep yo-yo-ing between the lower reaches of the PL and the upper tier of the Championship and let's face it , it also a long time since Middlesborough and Derby were up there. Mind you it also raises the question of where all that money went to if it didn't get used to return bigger clubs immediately to the top flight.
  5. The whole point of these exercises apart from the more obvious bonding opportunity is to push players way beyond their comfort zone and to take risks that normally they would not take to prove to them that they can do things that normally they would be scared of doing, that the only thing to fear is fear itself, fear of not knowing. Few if any of the players appear to have been on ice skates or skis before and probably like you would be scared of falling over, getting hurt or making a right tit of themselves in front of their pals. They have taken unusual risks mainly not to lose face - safety in numbers - and have come out of it intact physically and with pride. Nobody feels like a tit, in fact many will glow with pride. The have proved to themselves that after all they could do things they never thought they could. Highly motivational and expect a reaction against Chelsea. PS ...and OK wags, they'll all fall flat on their Arses in the penalty area! Just joking.
  6. I imagine has far more going on in his head than you, that's for sure.
  7. Brilliant! Truly bloody Brilliant! Joke of the Year.
  8. There is another aspect about this that doesn't get mentioned on here and that is 'fame' in the way that everyone in the world knows of and instantly recognises Ronaldo, Messi, Fabregas or Iniesta. Maybe that is a higher goal for very gifted players who have amassed more money than they could ever spend. Fame must be a factor in even being considered for e.g. high level awards of FIFA such as Player of the Year. Maybe Morgan would like to be household name around the world and not just in Northam.
  9. 2-0 to Saints, yep really.
  10. OK moaners so he's not very good, in fact just mediocre average? A top six team must indeed be very desperate to have to include such an idiot in their side. Maybe he just turned up with his boots on Tuesday evening and Koeman fancied to give the kid a break 'cos we were a bit short of players mid-week.
  11. ..and no doubt walking on hot coals again! Actually they might welcome that especially Elia.
  12. This quote today Manchester United are in talks to sign Porto right-back Danilo, 23, with the Old Trafford club willing to meet the Brazilian's £37m release clause. (Sport - in Spanish) Maybe Nat shouldn't be too hasty, is that contract is still on the table?
  13. Just back from the match. I'll take 1-0 any day. Djuricic looks an excellent prospect. Mane always looks to me like a headless chicken (what trick shall I do next?) but his tenacity and persistence paid off and a little shout from JWP who set up the goal. Elia clearly struggling and Pelle at last got hauled off, guess he'll warm the bench for a while? Our defence under pressure at the last looked like Dad's Army.
  14. There is nothing here to discuss, Koeman is settled he has brought in his own players and he is in the top five this morning... and the sun is shining! What's not to like. Nobody goes to Newcastle unless they have relatives up there to visit. The time to worry is when he is pencilled in for Barca or Arsenal.
  15. Are we about to witness a miracle? Is the improbable about to happen? Morgan Schneiderlin talking up Southampton as if it was his club for ever? Let's just hope that he has had a change of heart and will still be a Saint next year.
  16. Why does it feel sooooooooo good when Pochettino loses? Don't you just love that sulky, sour-puss look on his face when he is suddenly reminded that he really isn't the best manager to have strutted his stuff in the PL as he imagines in his dreams. Nice one Jose and what a great celebration too. Ouch! How much did that suit cost you?
  17. Time wasting? Crap Referees? Parking the Bus? These are reasons why we are no longer scoring goals an winning games? Come off it lads, these are nothing more than pathetic excuses for poor play on our part. Fact is we seem clueless at braking down packed defences and most teams in the PL have good enough players to defend well these days. The real problem as we know is our attackers just aren't performing at the level needed to break down defences. What worries me is that is beginning to look the same week in week out, we don't seem to learn anything new on the training ground like Pelle becoming mobile and running in behind defenders or out to the flanks to draw the CBs away from the centre in the way that Lambert learned to do when he was man make out of the game.
  18. You are joking aren't you. Protein was a journeyman, no more than that and mostly effing useless. Up there with Morgan? What the hell are you on chum?
  19. Time gentlemen, please! Let's just pray we can finish better than 8th otherwise Pochettino really will be crowing. You never get used to Saints losing the plot when it matters even when you have watched them for as long as I have but why is it always us? Guess it's a nailed on certainty that Clyne & Schneiderlin will be off in July and what is the incentive for Toby to stay? Also seems likely we won't be taking up too many of the loan options.
  20. Might as well drop him from the squad for the rest of the season and give one of the Academy lads a long run. Is Matt Targett any good on the right?
  21. One would have thought so but if even Ronald Koeman does not have enough charisma and drawing power to hold onto Toby, Morgan & Clyney then we maybe are over-egging the cake a bit on his appeal to players?
  22. But Toby and Morgan have been injured and Jay has been a non-starter for the whole season so your hypothesis is rubbish.
  23. For sure, I think this is a Top Top thread and the responses truly awesome
  24. Truth is 'stonewall' doesn't mean anything except that if you live on the moors and you want to stop sheep wandering.

    Fil ?

Anybody who watched Barcelona last night will see exactly the roots of our current style of play including the multiple square passes followed by a quick ball over the top to a runner behind their back four. We have Djuricic, Barcelona had Messi, That apart no difference and they beat City, good omen?
