  1. RIP. Bit of a shock. Didn't Lawrie want to sign him the year we finished second but ended up with Fashanu instead?
  2. Except it isn't really greeted with "phew, it's not JWP" is it?
  3. He's only got two years left on his contract - they'll be desperate to shift him on now while they still can but I reckon 18M + add ons would probably do it. Hopefully he doesn't block any pathway to the first team though.
  4. From what I can tell it doesn’t look as if he’ll be fully fit for start of the season so not sure I would risk it after a bad injury.
  5. Agreed, I thought he was good too. Good vision and moves the ball quickly - for a side that's going to be possession based I think he'll do well.
  6. Possibly if we sold KWP but can't see it otherwise. Apparently West Ham want him as well. There does seem to be a glut of decent right backs around.
  7. They did say at the time he signed that there was a fair bit of competition for his signature and obviously offering terms like this gave us a bit of an advantage. Have to remember we did get him for only 5M which is a steal. Would we have felt happier paying anything up to 15M but kept more of the profit? Probably. At the time we were still owned by Gao and money was a bit tighter than it was last year. I'd really hoped he would stay but nevermind.
  8. Brilliant, this feels like a new signing in itself.
  9. I keep forgetting about Larios. He's certainly not going to be an option for midweek games when he's got school the next day. I'd probably buy another one.
  10. TBF he did say he was looking forward to working with a squad that had more dynamic forward players (or something like that). It hasn't stopped Tino or Amo-Ameyaw in pre-season making some dribbles so I'm hoping he'll be able to make use of players that can take people on. In particular Sulemana and Tella need to be encouraged to do this. Edit: Just seen you were talking in relation to Bree - so points above not so relevant.
  11. That's a bit sad, I can't be bothered to remember who everyone is anyway so don't make much difference to me. I get you confused with rallyboy and whoever has a bicycle in their avatar. Don't really know why. I'd be rubbish at an internet feud.
  12. That's entirely disputable. Ukraine recently attacked the Kurch bridge (again), they've taken out many ammo depots, killed Russian generals in targeted strikes and appear to be causing havoc with further disruption to logistics. That's beside the point though - you said, "I'm in little doubt that they can support themselves with more than the west are supplying Ukraine" and you simply don't know how much the west is willing to supply Ukraine. There's no sign of it stopping and if anything the west is supplying even more. Now you can speculate that it might stop but, as I pointed out, that's exactly the same as you moaning about the people speculating on Russia running out of missiles.
  13. Pretty sure the last link I read had mentioned at least two prem clubs were in for him so not unexpected. TBH we're well stocked in that area anyway and if it's possible then I'd rather keep both or one of Tella and Sulemana than bringing Borges in. Also got Amo-Ameyaw who looks like he needs a pathway to first team minutes so I'm not really that bothered.
  14. That's just as speculative as anyone saying Russia is running out of missiles.
  15. Seems like Scammacca and Antonio are more likely to leave than Ings. I'd be happy with Ings coming back but wages would be a big issue even if he was prepared to drop down. We'd also need to shift some more players too.
  16. Do you like being bullied or sexually harassed? It's much easier to get in if you do.
  17. TBH I don't think many people have seen enough of him to make much of a judgement. Sounds like a decent player and hopefully is so look forward to seeing him play. Amo-Ameyaw lad has looked really good in the couple of pre season games and the sub appearance at Liverpool though.
  18. Totally agree. I think we should be buying players that are both good enough for promotion but also really good in the premier league. I don't know why anyone hasn't thought of this before but it's a great idea. Hopefully we can do our stuff under the radar.
  19. Thanks. I wasn't really being serious though.
  20. I presume that's why we've brought in Wilcox - he'll have experience of working round FFP with Man City.
  21. Isn't it because the European windows all shut at the end of August? Pretty sure we tried one season to end ours the day before our domestic season started but everyone got annoyed because it put English clubs at a disadvantage compared to other leagues.
  22. I was surprised to learn that crisps actually are political: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/ampp3d/general-election-how-crisps-you-5590920 My favourite is Mussolini Mustard and Gammon flavour.
  23. I dunno, it's a puff piece for the official site to get his name out there so people know he's supposed to be doing something. All this talk of alignment - we were doing that under Ralph. The example he gave - everyone is ambitious and wants to be in the premier league. Well, shit, show me a club that doesn't have staff that wants that. It's basically management bullshit bingo - there's no real detail in that interview. I've quoted you but it's not really a dig. The interview probably isn't the right vehicle to go into details that matter and I guess that's fair enough, but it's so anodyne that it's difficult to find a reaction either way. Good luck to the fella though.
