Bit worried about this one, Cardiff look tough to break down and good at set pieces so to counter this I've bet on a Cardiff win. I haven't won a bet all season so that should do the trick.

One good thing is that it’s nearly Christmas so fairytale of NewYork can’t really be played any more than it would be normally. I bloody hate that song. Feel bad cos Shane M had just died so RIP and all that.

I thought last night was OK. Bit boring 1st half and Baz saved us a couple of times, second half was much more comfortable and I'm not going to criticise a win - they did what they needed to. Very bizarre interview with RM though. Whatever wound up RM was probably nothing to do with that interview - he was off hand right from the start so I'm guessing something had pissed him off.

I think this will be an exciting game with lots of goals - similar to the Norwich game. I'm going for 3-2 with a late winner from Ross Stewart.

Huddersfield 1-1 Saints - Match Thread

Yes, pretty much agree with all this. I really like Smallbone. His tackling does let him down but he's probably our best passer of the ball. Particularly like the way he can do quick incisive one touch passing. I think he's best suited to a more advanced midfield role where he doesn't have to worry so much about the defensive side of the game and, once Ross Stewart is fit, then I think he'll be fighting it out with Alcaraz for that position. -
I hope he comes back as joint player manager with Fonte.

Anything happened over this?

Depends on your point of view - many of them voted precisely because their constituents wanted them to vote for a ceasefire so in that case it was actually putting "the needs of the people" first. It was a pointless vote but nevertheless.

Yawn, Tories are still shit.

I'd be happy if the squad stays as it is. It's already better than the vast majority of teams both in terms of quality and depth. It's probably only the right side of attack where we don't have a natural first choice player but even that enables us to give players that need minutes or don't deserve to be dropped an opportunity.

Not going to pretend that KS is the finished article but I think having strikers that have decent instincts and good movement would help him when it comes to the final ball. There's loads of instances where he's put really dangerous crosses in but no one there, or no one gambling near post and getting in front of the defender. I'm hoping Ross Stewart helps in that respect.

Alcaraz top scorer each way….. Long way to go but don’t look likely at the moment so don’t get cocky kid

What the fuck are we going to talk about for next couple of weeks now? FFS!
-
We're heading into an international break so it'll be a defeat or a draw followed by two weeks of agonising analysis of if, why and how we're terrible.

Been a while since last "where are they now (posters)" thread?

What happened to DellDays and Batman? Different as chalk and cheese but I liked them both. Um Pahars and Not The Kevin Moore were decent posters too. -

mcjwills sadly died a few years ago. Not sure he counts as a prolific poster but he used to work with my Dad and I only found out a while after he died. Nice bloke. -
No complaints with that line up.

I can't wait for the one where Ross makes his debut and scores 5 goals.

Fucks sake I expected at least someone to fall for it!

People being pendants.

I think Blair was pretty transformative; introduced the minimum wage, gave BoE independence and spent a relative fortune on the public sector which did get results such as reducing NHS waiting lists. You might not like much of that but it was definitely not the actions of a Tory government

Tend to agree, we’re crying out for a decent in form striker although playing devils advocate we’ve tried Adams, A Armstrong, Alacaraz and now to a lesser extent Mara. The system either doesn’t favour the central striker, or they’ve all played a bit shit when they’ve played there.

Last couple of games I thought Sulemana has done well - produced some good crosses but our other forwards have been too slow to take advantage. I think against Hull there were three good crosses that would have looked better if someone gambled and went near post. Hopefully Ross Stewart can do that.

It did make me laugh hearing him yesterday talking about the "journey" the fans have been on. I'm so used to hearing metaphorical management speak that it's quite strange to hear journey being used properly.

Thanks for sharing those links, some really fascinating stuff although we could probably veer well off topic discussing them all.
