Great second-half effort that wins the game emphatically. Fantastic season. If only we hadn't suffered that horrible spell from Nov 21st to January 2nd, when we lost six out of eight games. And then we finished the season with an amazing run, winning seven out of nine! Congratulations to everyone at the club—especially the players and Ronald Koeman. Supporting Saints has never been so good!

Yes, it was a very ugly game, as far as the conduct of many of the players went.

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that. Perhaps it's to do with gender-stereotyping: girls play with dolls; boys play with toy guns? The issue of the prevalence of these incidents in particular states is also of interest. Does the "local culture" have an impact on local behaviour?

Right. Although they don't do Farley's Rusks in the U.S. Besides, these days American infants are more likely to be pre-occupied with a digital game device than a morsel of food!

Good football? That's tricky to define, because it's a combination of moments of individual brilliance and periods of sustained team skill and effort. But you know it, when you see it. I also hold to the "old-fashioned" view that good football is underpinned by a spirit of sportsmanship—playing so as not to win at any cost, but with a love of the game itself, a respect for the opposition, and a refusal to cheat in order to win.
