  1. People need to calm down. £30m is a fair price for JWP. I’m sorry but he’s really not THAT good. Sentiment over reason here.
  2. Snarky much. I spent all last year saying he was over hyped. I just don’t post on here very often. Some people post every thought on here. I tend to read what others think more than give my opinion. Some people (like yourself) don’t seem to like a counter view to your own or jump to conclusion. It’s possible to have a counter opinion and a forum is a place for opinions.
  3. Totally agree with this. Personally, I feel he’s over hyped on here. Without his free kicks, I don’t feel he’s the level some people seem to think he is. He is also NOT a leader. Since he’s been captain we’ve had really poor on field leadership. His comments at the end of the season were also baffling. He spoke in a way that suggested he had no hand in anything. Players in different groups etc. He’s a nice guy and I like him but he has his flaws. I know people won’t like me saying that but football is all about opinions. He loved Selles and his time as manager. Says a lot to me. He should’ve been cross. He’s not a born winner. He is linked to the rot that’s set in over the last few years. I don’t want him as captain this year. I wish him well and it’s sad to see him go due to his long ties with the club but that’s heart over head.
  4. Roy Hodgson to advise Selles for the rest of the season? I mean, I’m clutching because the situation is so desperate.
  5. Spoke to Rasmus afterwards and asked what ‘doing things his way (Jones) meant. Rasmus said he wants to play quick on transitions and to get the ball forward quickly. I said I hope that doesn’t mean long ball. He said no it doesn’t. I mentioned that the style he wants to play seems to be the exact thing he’s been saying all along (front footed) so it doesn’t sound any different. I was really impressed that Rasmus took whatever questions. He even asked a fan what team he wanted to see and also said the comments people were making about Bednarek were a little unfair (Janny AB’s disrespectful comments when he went on loan were pointed out)
  6. Fair play for them staying around and answering questions at the end. Feel pleased I could say what I wanted
  7. I am a season ticket holder. They had a section to write a question (if you wanted to ask one).
  8. This is the challenge
  9. Received my invitation today
  10. Are we being too harsh? He had a 50% win ratio until recently 🤣
  11. £100m spent this year yet Janny B (I know) and Walcott get minutes. In other completely unrelated news, I just can’t work out where it’s going wrong.
  12. Did Nathan Jones used to manage Luton? He’s kept that very quiet.
  13. What are you talking about? Adding an apostrophe at the end of a plural never means you have ‘es’ on the end. fans’ does not represent ‘fanses’. An apostrophe after an s is used to show possession with plural or if a word ends in s. Chris’ girlfriend or Chris’s girlfriend are fine, for example. We said it as Chris’s but it’s acceptable to write it either way. You would never say Chrises and Chris’ doesn’t represent this.
  14. I didn’t say they did own it; I was just saying that fans’ doesn’t mean ‘fanses’. Are you coming to the boys’ party on Saturday?
  15. Fans’ doesn’t mean ‘fanses’. It shows possession. Eg The boy’s party (party belongs to one boy) The boys’ party (party belongs to more than one boy)
  16. Ankerson promised an exciting couple of weeks but I think he was meaning all announcements from the club, including new staff. I don’t think he meant transfer’s necessarily. That was my reading of it.
  17. Perhaps the fan reaction encouraged a better performance. It’s the most competitive league in the world. Don’t blame the fans when the players are crap. They get paid a fortune. It’s insulting to think they are so fragile.
  18. ‘Hardly going to help the players’. Apart from the fact they won you mean? Fans are not obligated to happy clap. You pay your money, you have the right to voice your opinion. People should be able to cheer or complain as they see fit.
  19. Even the older players we have are not good enough. No leaders. We bought Aribo this year and he’s added nothing. This isn’t a poor transfer from years past. Aribo and AMN. The kids (Lavia and Edozie) are good signings. ABK too. They need experience alongside them. An experienced cb next to ABK. JWP is not going to help develop Lavia unless we want to teach him to pass sideways. Should have about 3-4 good young players, a few mid 20s and then some around 30. It’s not rocket science. Hooooooooofffff. Worst football I’ve ever seen ar St Mary’s. I will not renew my ST to watch that and for the first time ever think I can’t manage to watch many more of the marches I’ve already paid for this year.
  20. Pleasantly surprised by such a polite reply. I hear your points. I personally think that passes to players that can’t reach them are poor passes. It means we lose possession. To be honest, I’ve barely seen JWP pass forwards. I say he’s the problem because I think he plays regardless. He needs to be dropped when he’s poor. He isn’t. I don’t think that’s healthy for a club. He is no leader, I’m afraid. I think he’s a very likeable, decent person. I think that in the past he should’ve been dropped and Diallo given a chance alongside Romeu but he is guaranteed to start. I lost count of the amount of balls he’s given away with poor passing. All I see is someone running around a lot but achieving very little. We don’t really have a replacement at the moment but we have had options in the past. He hit a purple patch but in his whole saints career, that accounts for a very limited amount of time. I get frustrated because I feel he often goes without scrutiny and I don’t think that’s right. I will look out for his diagonal balls though. Glad we can disagree amicably.
  21. I said AM for S. Armstrong rather than a winger. I think they’d be narrower. James Ward Prowse is one of the biggest problems we have at this club. He is forced into the starting 11 when he’s been dreadful. It’s Sideways Ward Prowse. He does nothing. One goal in a blue moon is not good enough. The fact he is captain sums up the awful situation. JWP is NOT our best player right now. He is the problem.
  22. If it’s 4-3-3 GK - signing needed (loan?) DR - KWP DC - ABK DC - DCC DL - Perraud DM - Lavia CM - new signing desperately needed CM - new signing desperately needed AM - Edozie AM - S. Armstrong (or new signing) ST- Adams (or new signing) That’s depressing
  23. Aribo has been a poor signing so far. Lavia’s injury record and Bazunu’s form is damaging. Letting Romeu go was another error. Not buying a striker another. Edozie, Lavia, ABK have been good signings. I have no idea what’s going on with CC. It’s the collected rubbish in the form of Djenepo, Walcott, Elyounoussi, Lyanco, A. Armstrong and JWP (sorry but he’s been poor) that’s holding us back. Mostly buying young players isn’t the issue. The issue is not having decent older players to support them. For every exciting young player they sign, the next signing should be one to replace the rubbish above. These don’t have to be expensive.
  24. Cédric is injures and wouldn’t have played any of the games we’ve had since he left. That’s the point.
