Weird fascination with Boufal on here. He’s getting the ‘optimism’ treatment that Ramirez got. It’s weird. People are quick to make excuses and find reasons why he hasn’t performed. This is all based on feelings. People ‘feel’ there’s a player in there somewhere. Sell him. Quickly. He doesn’t deserved to get loads of chances.

I think this is a little different that a standard job. You can’t compare someone earning millions (for hardly any work) to someone in a regular job. I don’t buy that capitalist viewpoint. It’s an obscene amount of money. You take the rough with the smooth. Nothing would induce me to have any sympathy for him. I’ll save that for people in real financial difficulty. -

He’s always been a pretty unpleasant man. I never understood the adoration he received from some fans. The truth gets out in the end. -
It seems that our first signing is usually around the last week of June. Hopefully we can sign one player without having to wait for the dross to go: Austin, Carrillo, Boufal, Moi, Hoedt, Cedric, Forster, Stephens. I fear we won’t be able to do much until we can shift some of these. That will be tricky.

Do we have any fairly reliable sources of information on the forum any more?

I feel that giving the players 2 days off was an awful decision. They are about to have weeks off. They didn’t need it. Some worrying decisions from Ralph. I like him and was singing his praises before we signed him. He was my preferred choice. It doesn’t mean I’m blinkered though. He’s made some errors. I feel for the fans today.

I’m a big Ralph H fan but his post match comments today are embarrassing. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

Go all out for the win!

What a brilliant day! I was pessimistic and thought Cardiff would pull off surprising results but that’s just me! I love it when I’m wrong. Well done Saints!

Are we thinking that are goal difference is superior enough to Brighton’s to not be a concern in the event we finish on the same points? I think it’s about 5 difference.
-
We beat Wolves since Liverpool.
-
How did Cardiff play today? Unlucky? Deservedly beaten?
-
Sorry, that would give Brighton 38max.
-
Even if Cardiff win 3 and end on 40 pts, Brighton seem likely to get another 3-4 max? That’s 37. That leaves us needing 2 (if we keep the better goal difference). Our first half yesterday was worrying though. Need to beat Bournemouth really.

Saints - 40 points Relegated - Brighton on 34 points Champions - Liverpool Other two CL spots - Arsenal and Spurs Auto Promotion - Norwich and Leeds Playoff Winner - Aston Villa FA Cup - Man City Champions League - Spurs v Liverpool final. Liverpool Europa League - Arsenal

I can see Cardiff bearing Fulham and possibly Palace. Man Utd have lost the plot again. They could finish on 38. Brighton possibly get 3. 4 would be exceptional really. Brighton might just see us safe even if we don’t get another point. As for us.. Loss to Newcastle and Watford Minimum of 4 pts from Bournemouth and Huddersfield West Ham- who knows!

I’m worried how arrogant people are getting regarding our position...

September 1. Classic.

If Cardiff don’t win Tues night, I think it’s done. If Cardiff win, Brighton look on very shaky ground. You can’t rule out random results at this time of year. I’d like 2 more points as over confidence can be dangerous. Ralph won’t be happy until we get to 40 points! Hopefully we can overtake Bournemouth!
-
You’re totally right. I just thought that the way we were playing we couldn’t fail to beat Cardiff at the time also. We just need to get over the line as quickly as possible so they can make plans for next year. Not knowing what league you’ll be in could mean that plans for next year (signings) are delayed. Fingers crossed Cardiff lose the next two matches and we pick up at least a point!
-
How many points from the remaining games are people predicting we’ll get?
-
Everyone seems to be assuming we will definitely beat Bournemouth and Huddersfield at home. Look what happened with Cardiff at home... I think people are getting carried away. I’m naturally pessimistic though and very happy to be proven completely wrong. I hope my pessimism is made to look ridiculous by the end of the season!
-
If Cardiff only get 7 more, it’ll give them 35. That would mean we’d only need another 2pts. Are we certain Man Utd will do what’s required last game? I fear they may be on the beach if the Champions League places are sorted by then. If we can’t stay above Cardiff now, we don’t deserve to stay up.
-
I could see Cardiff getting another 7 pts. They nearly beat Chelsea too so you definitely can’t rule out a surprise result. Saints wise... Wolves - 1-1 Newcastle - 1-1 Watford - 1–0 loss Bournemouth- 2-1 win West Ham - 2-1 loss Huddersfield - 2-1 win I give us 8 pts and 41 in total. I could actually see us slip up against a Bournemouth (1-1) . That would give us 6 pts more and 39 in total. Just hoping Cardiff don’t get 3 wins. That could make things tense!
