I’d have not flip flopped with no plan. I’d have gone for someone better in the summer. I’d have picked someone to deliver the style I want as an owner/chairman. Wagner perhaps? We have more resources than most teams. Even if we struggled the first year I really feel a manager could build a better style. Who honestly thinks Hughes is a long term appointment? I’d have stuck to a plan that I had, a clear style of play and a determination to develop young players. If I didn’t work so be it. It’s better to fail with a plan than become a Stoke, Villa, West Brom etc with no plan and constant misery. It’s my opinion. I don’t expect people to agree and that’s fine.

Get rid of Hughes. It’s not entirely his fault but due to Les and Krueger’s ineptitude you need an outstanding manager. We’ll go down and we’ll deserve it. I’m so jealous that Bournemouth have a decent manager. I’d love Howe here. He could build a decent team as we have better resources than Bournemouth. They are such a happy team it seems. We’ve no plan and flip flop with different managers who don’t have similar playing styles. It’s a joke.

Some people don’t want facts to get in the way of opinions!

I would say there are a lot of clubs who survive with a similar strategy of not bloating squads with average players on high salaries. Bournemouth have a largely average squad but on much lower wages. The young players we’ve recently had to play out of necessity rather than choice have been to a suitable level to be stand ins. Stephens would never have got a chance if it wasn’t for the Les Reed balls up re Fobte and then the VVD injury. A lot of the time we are told young players aren’t good enough but they aren’t given a chance. Look at Spurs. Give them a chance as back up players. Can we honestly say Hoijberg etc have been better than what we already had? Sims would have contributed more than some of our signings if given more games. ( Boufal anyone?) If it didn’t work so be it. We currently have highly paid players nowhere need the first team, young players blocked from the first team and we are no better than Bournemouth. Something hasn’t worked. It’s my view. I’m allowed it. I don’t mind if you disagree now I’ve clarified my thinking. Thanks

In my view, Les Reed has made an error with the strategy that he’s implemented. The club have spent a lot of money on wages because they’ve decided to go for numbers over quality. Can anyone genuinely say we have a clear starting 11 that are really better than the subs? Ralph mentioned about numbers last night being a reason for the cost to the club. Personally, I think it’s an error to have 25 generally interchangeable players. I’d rather a starting 11 who are clearly starters and we spend the money on these guys with subs made up largely by youth players. Spending the wage budget on a large group of players causes us to have many we can’t shift. Bournemouth have players on much lower wages and then buy one or two fairly expensive players per year. They are on a par with us, if not better. Long, Forster, Carillo, Boufal, Davis, Austin. These wages are too high for what we get in return. For example, I’d rather us spend our limited finances on two decent strikers rather than having 4 pretty average players. I’d give Sam G the chance to shine when we have injuries or suspensions. That’s my view. Quality over numbers.

Sims has created chances. In some matches, he did more in 20mins than some players did for 5 games.

Carillo will be nowhere near the wages VVD was on. He improved his contract after a really successful year. Carillo was a punt. The wages we’ve saved by selling proven premier league quality like Wanyama, Fonte, Schneiderlin, VVD, Mane would have been greater than those spent on Hoijberg, Redmond, Carrillo. Gabbiadini and Lemina are probably on a fair amount of money. Hoedt possibly. I just don’t think we’ve spent as much on wages for new signings as those expensive players we’ve lost over the last few years. FF’s ridiculous wage is one we need to shift.
-
VVD would have had massive wages so him leaving would have reduced the wage bill.
-
Yes, but have they got a dome and other expensive training facilities like we have? (Even I’m not sure if I’ve said that tongue-in-cheek).
-
I doubt it but we should be able to compete with Palace for his signature surely? He’s said he’s waiting until after the World Cup to decide about his future. It doesn’t sound like he’s desperate to go to Palace permanently.

Loftus Cheek?
-
Wouldn’t be so cocky. That could be us soon. I don’t get the attitude of laughing at them when we equally deserve it.
-
I just hope we don’t try and draw 3 games to try and Get 3 points!
-
Why are people so obsessed with Swansea? We are far more likely to catch Huddersfield. As long as stoke don’t get two wins, 3 pts really might do it. Probably 4.
-
No, it means we would have drawn or beaten them. (Assuming a loss to man city)
-
Forget Swansea. 4pts would give us 36. Huddersfield are on 35 with Man City,Chelsea, Arsenal. If they get a draw and lose two they’d end on 36 with worse goal difference. Our best hope is catching Huddersfield but it’ll be close.

I’ve had enough. That really is the last straw. It’s yet another weekend with a black cloud hanging over it.

Once again, somebody telling someone else who has paid a lot of money for a season ticket how they are allowed to behave at a football match. Even if I agree that cheering and support is preferable, you can’t tell people who have paid good money What they are and aren’t allowed to do at a match re cheering or complaining.
-
It’s too late. Whatever we do will be too late.
-
Why do we have the 6th highest season ticket prices in the league? Would have thought they’d be cheaper for small clubs.
-
It gets people talking regardless is my point. A lot of people enjoy discussing it with friends/family etc. Let people make it their own minds!

Why can’t people post what info the have or say they have and (shock, horror) people can choose to believe it or not. Some people don’t mind reading gossip/rumours even if it’s not true. Newspapers do this all the time but people still read the crap they print in the sports pages. Don’t be frightened off by argumentative people. Just ignore them. Lots of people read these forums and don’t post anything. They appreciate info - however unreliable or reliable it may be.

Why wouldn’t it be announced today? I’m confused. If it’s agreed and sorted then why not announced until later this week?
