Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
VectisSaint replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't have thought it was Jones related given he has been playing in our B team a couple of times while still on loan at Vale. Can we cancel Smallbone's loan at Stoke as well? -
Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
VectisSaint replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
He was used as a striker in some games apparently and has been playing in our team games recently. Considering the fuss when he joined us from Everton, things don't seem to have developed too well, though it is worth remembering that he is only just 18. -
Except his name is not Nathaniel. It is Nathan. Good luck to the guy, seriously underwhelmed, but he has my support. How does Ruben Sellers fit in with Jones bringingnhisncoachingbteam?

Carillo is now in China, signed for Henan Songshan.
-
Seems odd to me in the current climate that they think they can find better rates now.

That would be an Stoke fan with an over inflated opinion of his club.

Young Nathan, aged 49. What planet are some people on.

Saints 1-4 Newcastle - Match Thread
VectisSaint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
You may be in a minority but it's larger than you think. We played some good stuff today at times, S Armstrong and AMN and Perraud made some decent chances but they were squandered. We made a big mistake when Larios went off and really never recovered. Centre mid and centre defence was our downfall, oddly where we consider our best players. Having to move AMN to RB was a blow, Lavia was rusty and probably shouldn't have played, Salisu was a bit of a liability, it would probably have been better to start Caleta Carr today. The game didn't seem like 4-1, but we will get nowhere while our forwards continue to miss sitters. JWP is a shadow of his former self, I blame that squarely on the loss of his midfield partner. Think that the time is right for Ralph to be shown the door. -
Nonsense, we lost Romeu.

Sad to hear that he is retiring. I have no interest in horse racing, but have always followed Mick's career (but never placed a bet). It is a shame that he never managed to achieve an English Classic win, but that is a tough nut to crack especially these days. My hero as a footballer, from the first time I saw him when I was 12 (Chelsea, 1967, lost 3-5). My daughter is named after him (had to change the first letter of his name). Best player we ever had (yes I know there was that Tiss fella) and nicest bloke too (met him a couple of times). Good luck in your retirement Mick.

More like there weren't many B team players involved so what would Horseman? know about the players involved. This was effectively a run out for the first team fringe players. Surprised that Lancashire played to be honest. Think we'll see more of this during the WC shutdown.
-
More to the point hopefully the club will use these games as runouts for first teamers not involved in the WC, like today. It would be good to see the team winning as well to boost the chance of automatic promotion to the top division of PL2 where the standard of opposition is higher for the Reserves for next season.
-
Clubs will, however, be permitted to use five (previously three) over-age outfield players and one over-age goalkeeper, in order to transition from its under-23 format.

5-0, second for Walcott. Half-time. Correction 5-1 HT (Boro scored in the 7th minute of added time)

There is only one reason why the BBC continue to employ Crooks.

Always admired the silky skills of John McGrath, Brian O'Neil, Dennis Hollywood, Jim Gabriel, true gents.😉

Southampton Sunak ( 1 ) v Portsmouth Morduant ( 0 )
VectisSaint replied to Charlie Wayman's topic in The Saints
Lived in Pompey from a young age (went to school in W'ville). She is a Skate. -
OK, who voted for Theo ? Moi and Perraud were the outstanding performers, and Stu. Caleta Car on another day (another ref) would have given away a few free kicks, Lyanco was lucky to be on the pitch after Nketia had swapped shirts with him. It was good to see some players who have been getting some stick from people on here showing up well, I actually think Perraud could become a bit of a cult hero.

Isn't AMN an Arsenal player?
-
Given he is only expected to join team training this week, it would seem unlikely, another couple of weeks I would imagine, at least.
-
Coupled with our midfield being shit and our goalkeeping being not up to much things are looking good. If only we still had a radio station to be proud of.

Pompey v Saints B Team Hampshire Senior Cup
VectisSaint replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
19 times winners over the last 130 years (St Mary's, Reserves, A). Haven't even included Southampton Police 😉 -
or more specifically the loss of Romeo and Romeu.

Things beginning to fall into place now, Bruce and WBA part ways.

He was here for half a season in 2013 and then full season 2013-14, joined Spurs in May 2014. He will not rejoin while KL is still involved with the club (and probably wouldn't even if she was not).
