Japanese flag ..steward told me pole and flag too big ?
VectisSaint replied to millbrooktonian's topic in The Saints
I look forward to the waving of the Yorkshire flag when Billy makes his debut. I suspect there will be no problems with the size of Yorkshire flags, as Yorkshiremen would only have very small flags to avoid wastage of material -
Morgan and Hammond have 1 each this season, Deano is hardly prolific. Morgan is the future, I suspect Hammond may not be with us when we play in the PL.
-
Even if he was available it would be daft playing him (or at least starting him) when he hasn't even trained with the squad. We have 5 other good strikers available, all of whom will be desparate to make sure they stay in the team when Billy is available.
-
Good signing, welcome aboard the waterbus. My only thought is, we now have 5 strikers who can play alongside RL, but its still difficult to see a combination that would work well when RL is not available. I guess it would have to be Guly & perm 1 from 3 of Sharp/Connolly/Lee/Barnard. Still desparately seeking a CB, then things will look sweet.

Was he in departures or arrivals? Perhaps he is meeting Hooper who has come down for a look-see and a trip to Ikea before signing.

No, its quite clear that you are in fact Paolo di Canio.
-
Correct, at same time as we are being heavily linked with Sordell.

saints to win race to sign Jamie Vardy
VectisSaint replied to alderholt saints's topic in The Saints
Thought Blackpool had already done a deal, clearly not. Lots of people (including Celtic, Rangers, Blaclpool and Palace) were after him but the Fleetwood owner is only willing to let him leave permanently at the end of the season, hence the loan back arrangement. Palace had offered £700k evidently. Holloway was very fulsome in his praise -
How is the Hoddle issue still relevant? It was 8 years ago. Its about as relevant as whether Lawrie should have taken over from Ted Bates, many people thought it was a terrible decision at the time. Maybe it was, perhaps we would have done better to have appointed the 15 year old Messiah at the time and avoided the 20+ years of ups and downs in between so that we could have been multi European Champions. If Hoddle had kept us up (which I doubt without the support of John Gorman) then would we now be in the happy financial position we ar now. Who knows, but probably not. Its irrelevant, its in the past, a point in history. Get over it. You are by far the most repetitive poster/troll here, you are sir a 2 trick pony (Hoddle and 17th).

But then we will look to bring him in on loan. Just because the transfer window closes on Tuesday thats not the end of it.
-
No Morgan today? Find that a bit surprising, not even on the bench. Is this an injury that we don't know about? Would actually probably have been a better option for CB than Fox although Danny did alright there on Monday (albeit after Leicester had taken their foot off of the gas). Still, should be good enough to beat Millwall today.

Odd one really, makes sense to get a short term loan until we know whether Seaborne will ever play again, but is clearly more of a left back than a CB (was usually second choice to Danny Higginbotham at Stoke). Is not particularly tall for a CB either, but may make a decent backup for Jos until the end of the season. Clearly not a long term option, can't see why we would be looking to bring him in long term when he is known not to be able to command a regular PL place and age is not on his side (wrong side of 31). But we do desparately need a backup for Jos on the left hand side so if NA thinks he fits that bill so be it. Can't see Raidi playing regularly again and DS won't play again this season I will wager (unless it is just a cameo). Left sided CB should always have been a top priority in this window.

Not if its freezing cold, thats lager and is for girls. Man up and get a proper pint of warm flat beer.

Surely we have already planned for a replacement, his name is Bart. Apart from one nightmare match, he is what is needed and is here as future replacement for KD. Why would we need to take Lewis if he flaps and parries too much, sounds too much like Kelvin on his off days.
-
Got to feel sorry for the ones on the lower deck of that bus.
-
I know he's back in the squad but he's hardly the answer to life, the universe and everything.
-
One for the Rosie47 I guess. I think we should call our new player Rosie.
-
CB should have been at least equal top priority with striker from the start. Hooiveld is really only a replacement for Seaborne, we needed another CB before Seaborne was hurt. WE still need one now as this week has illustrated, fit CBs, Aaron Martin and ..... The Number 5 shirt is still vacant, that tells me that a new CB is still expected.
-
Do we need a stopper? We already have a Cork.

Good news. I' mot his greatest fan, but it takes something to admit mistakes like he has (especially with the financial penalties that go with it). I hope supporters give him a break, and no booing is justified. No need to have a love-in with him, but let him do the business on the pitch and then give him some positive feedback from the stands. We all know he is quite capable at this level, not sure yet about the next level, but if NA/NC have welcomed him back thats good enough for me.

I heard it is actually a Honda, made in Swindon, and is currently alongside the M3 waiting for the Breakdown Recovery service to arrive.

I did? Must be getting old.

Still, good to see that all of those who decided that the delay was because it takes weeks and weeks to organise a move from Japan to the UK were wrong for a professional footballer. It clearly is a piece of **** like most people realised. But I was one that suggested that possibly something was not right because of the delay and lack of information, happy to be proved wrong.

A good advert for why people really no longer use this forum.
