Personally I think the ings deal got announced before we really wanted it to. I think most would say it was a bit out of the blue in so far as no rumours etc. Until then we were looking for a striker to play alongside so only had so much money. Now every man and his dog knows we need a striker and have the money.

We needed to get players in now to compete at U23 level so that they can make the step up in a season or two. If we didn’t then the cost to us in transfer fees in two years would have crippled us as we would need to buy a few.
