Ricardo Rodriguez looks a useful left back for Switzerland. He plays for FC Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. 21 years old. I am sure we could tempt him :-)
-
yes, just the consultation. Apparently the whole first team has to go in order to cover the first treatment phase
-
Maybe KL wants to spend the £4m on liposuction
-
I think the point is, how are we going to replace a full Engaland International striker? £4M, £6M, £8M ETC is pittance when you look at the £80m at stake
-
Krueger says 'we will sell on our terms' Liverpool offer £150k, Saints say no we want £4m for a full England International Striker.......Liverpool bite our hand off, Krueger thinks we have negotiated a good deal. Laughing stock
-
Ok well I will start, but there have been a few lately.., Les Reed (April 2014) regarding Mauricio's contract talks 'We are comfortable with the situation, talks going well' May 2014 MP leaves for Spurs and Ralph Krueger admits he was aware of MP talks with Spurs since January 14
-
Reed also said live on TV that he didn't agree with sending young players out on loan.....the very next day and.... I like Reed but this is a PR stunt to try and keep some stability in very uncertain times. Read no more into it than that

Thanks, will try that.

England player to become first openly gay footballer?

If you google Sterling and look at pics on there, you can't help feel that in most pics he looks it, maybe he is bi, so it's not technically the same thing -

Sterling I reckon, he looks it in my opinion, but then again you can't always judge a book..... -
They wont be filling that stadium for quite some time, and even if they do start filling it, to suddenly spend millions on extending the stadium would surely not be an immediate concern...90% of Skates live in cloud cuckoo land. It beggars belief

Again a very poor mistake....he is simply not good enough.
-
Yoshida that was awful
-
Ok, find me a newspaper report saying he was man of the match yesterday and on Saturday. He did ok, not great but ok. We need much better back up who can actually push the established 2 for their place in the team.....he is nowhere near doing that.
-
I prefer to judge a player over all games played during a season and so far he has been poor, with the exception of a couple of ok games of late. Even Jos has had a couple of ok games too but over the distance he isn't good enough. I have seen plenty of Yoshida to know that he is nowhere near good enough and we need someone more consistent and better. Yeovil he was awful against sub standard opposition, Arsenal he was poor...remember the ball over the top that he had no idea whether to let it bounce, jump Etc but instead headed it straight to Carzola. His distribution 50% of the time goes to the other team and he is too lightweight, but has been better in the last two games v Stoke and Hull that's all. If you think he has been significantly better than a 6 out of 10 in any other game this season then I want some of what you've been smoking. As soon as Lovren is back he will be 3rd choice again behind Jose and Dejan.

Really pleasing to hear on Danny Fox's departure, Poch talking about Matty Targett getting an opportunity. Saints are really making a name for themselves by continuously breeding new talent and more importantly they are given a chance in the first team. Surely any proud father in the country bar the Skates would be happy if their son had an option to go to Saints academy, you would choose it over any other.....this has to be good for Saints and long may it continue. As a saints fan this is what makes me most proud of my team over anything else...just saying

Matt Le Tiss is a Saints legend....Someone in a CEO position should be big enough and intelligent enough to not get involved with spats with ex players. I have had more joy watching Matt Le Tiss over the years than any other 1 individual at Southampton Football club. He bleeds red and white. If Cortese was on the pitch but wasn't made captain he would hand in a transfer request
-
Good article in my opinion and very close to the truth....again IMO. However, gutted Cortese has gone. He was the driving force/ engine behind the wheel. It was so refreshing to have a CEO with that ambition....more than any of our previous chairmen put together. He was the link to the finances. I am aware of spates he has had with workmen, training ground, exec boxes, his own home in Chilworth and there is no smoke without fire and someone namely KL was paying for this. But love him or hate him, he was a ruthless negotiator and again it was refreshing being the 'little old Southampton', but not being pushed around.

£30 million for for Luke Shaw should we take it?
Mouldy Coat replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
I would say that we are not too far off being able to offer £30m for a player ourselves with this influx of new tv money. We are not quite there yet, but in a couple of seasons maybe? And then all of a sudden £30m does not look like such a great deal. It's all relative. I wold hold out for more and a significant sell on percentage, Lescott would be a decent swap player and then spend the money on a worthy left back replacement -
You have to ask yourself truthfully is he really a top premiership defender? Look at all the very best centre halfs and most of them have physical strength qualities. He is too slight and gets bullied/pushed off the ball too easilly. I was astonished coming out of games last year and some people saying he did quite well, yet in the same game he was not attacking he ball in the air, instead allowing the ball to bounce first (usually over his head) or if he did try and take the ball early 9/10 it was headed back to the opposition. But more importantly he just does not look comfortable setting himself before jumping for a high ball. Thankfully I trust Pochs judgement being a centre half himself and thank god this guys chances have been limited this year. It's Lovren who has made the big difference to our defensive record. Putting Yoshida in there instead of Lovren with exactly the same rest of the team and we would struggle. We need another physical, hard composed cb.
-
He is crap and I watched him lots last season. Nowhere near the level o a decent centre half. Him and Lovren are light years apart in every aspect of defending. I would put Fonte much closer to Lovren than Yoshida. He is light years away from being a decent premiership centre half. His performance away particularly at West Ham last season was shambolic. Get rid
