Good job Ken Monkou didn't play for sporting Lisbon at the time

although not sure Jos is our answer I am afraid...

I thought he was Gashida last night. Chez your summary is spot on. Man of the match for me was Luke Shaw, outstanding talent. Very impressed with how he is dealing with Premier league football physcially. Definitely one for the future. If I was a betting man I would say that Yoshida will be replaced in the window. Panic buy

Verdict on Yoshida last night guys?
-
If you are going tonight then watch Yoshida's positioning for long balls forward from the Norwich goalkeeper. The problem is Yoshida 'getting set', he struggles to get in front of his man and let's too many balls bounce. He looks awkward... Over and out (last post on this subject, for fear of the bed wetters getting upset)

Loving the insults...muppets etc How was the haggis tonight sweaty? ;-) lol

Not suggesting he can't play on the deck or do i want him as a scapegoat, but numerous times the ball was allowed to bounce because of his poor positioning to attack the ball in the air. That's all, if you can't see that or not spotted it, maybe you will notice in up coming games (hopefully not though!) :-)

Sorry to put a negative on things, great saints performance over the last 3 games, really looking forward to the Norwich game. However, whilst I know that opinions differ (I've already had the debate in the pub after the Newcastle game), but for me Yoshida had a very bad game in the air. Yes he is more assured than Jos on the deck, but he struggled to deal with anything high in the air. I pointed this out as a concern at the start of the match and time and time again we watched Ba and Cisse get in front of him from high hopeful balls that Newcastle hit forward from the back - mostly Krul. He just didn't deal with them at all well. On numerous occasions I watched him let the ball bounce, his positioning was very poor meaning that he just didn't deal with the ball first time round. He was physically muscled out of he ariel contest. I am certain that if we had a commanding centre half like a Robert Huth or Shawcross of Stoke (not that they would leave Stoke for us) but we would be comfortably mid table or above. For those doubters, I'm talking about dealing with what should be meat and drink balls. Long direct balls from the back....it's a big worry for me. I didn't see many clean headers at all, it was either a poor headed clearance, or he let the ball drop. I so hope he can improve on this as having someone assured at the back to clear the lines would make a massive difference to a very talented team. I expect Saints will invest in the window. Someone like Dawson would be absolutely ideal

Sorry ticket has gone

...it's in the gold upper. Will sell for a round number £30 (less than face value). PM if interested

Without stating the obvious around shaky defence, conceed too many goals, etc etc I think the one missing ingredient is pace up front. Clearly this is why Jayrod is preferred to Lambo by Adkins because he gives us a bit more energy, but in my view we need to start with real pace. Obviously Mayuka can't play up front on his own due to his size, but he needs to be accommodated and a formation change to start the game should be considered to give us the real pace we need to get behind them.

How many will Lambert score this season................
Mouldy Coat replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
My guess is a very good and respectable 17, any more than that and we should be mid table comfortably -
I'd smash the granny out of it

I also have tickets in the home end Alpari upper

Boruc will play v Wednesday to show where he is at fitness wise. Unless Boruc has the game of his life them I fully expect Gazza to play. Adkins is a top man manager, you can't expect Davies to be happy that he has been dropped, but being the pro he is he will understand why. To drop Gazza now would mean upsetting another member of the squad. Let's face it he did nothing wrong and much better distribution than Davies so deserves another crack. expect Boruc to be waiting in the wings for his opportunity though

Good work. I hope it was a haymaker that landed flush

All genuine saints fans should should boycott daily star for this. Adkins should be given 1 full season in the prem - period. This is a very tough league, we have got promoted ahead of plan/schedule. Adkins is having to replace most of the team, I believe we will stay up, but I also believe fans will believe th hype in he papers mounting pressure on Adkins after we may lose to united today. Sad really

He won't get points for drink driving, just a statutory ban ;-)

Right, if we don't sign this fella tomorrow I am handing back my season ticket

Adkins got tactics spot on, take that performance against lesser teams (17!) we will do well
-
I don't think that was a stupid comment. Lambert should get his chance but we all know that Saints will have long spells at city without the ball and pegged in our own half. Lambert as the lone striker will be forced to come deep and we all know he doesn't have the pace for the ball over the top. So Jayrod might be the better lone striker option. This isn't writing off Lambo, because in a 442 at home he would be first on the team sheet, but away as the lone striker at city.....I am not so sure personally.

The article states that Bologna have asked for assurances on the installments (proof we are loaded) and are haggling over any percentage sell on fee. They want 30%.

I think we should join that facebook group and all pledge £1 for Skate Phoenix. If we pay through pay pal they will get less than that anyway. It would seem like a right p1ss take pledging money and making a mockery of their new club.

Although we are digressing slightly, when we have the ball, Lallana has more freedom playing centrally as he can drift left, right, come deep etc and is therefore harder to mark/ double up on as easy as if he is isolated out wide. When we are defending it means he has generally got more running to do though, but i think he will be more effective in that central role than being out wide.
