Although these bits do seem to sit a little uneasily with me....... ......I'm trying to get to grips with how failing to get little old Saints to 6th, alongside a European campaign, when most of the teams around us will spend a lot more than us, and when we'll sell a couple of players, can be seen as failure? In the eyes of the wider football world that apparently views us as similar to WBA, Palace etc. Is the football world now viewing us as a nailed on top six team?

I think that's part of it though too. He seemed to have agreed to the move before we gave permission for him to speak to them!

How ****ing funny would that be!!?? Been wondering about the length of time it's all taking to go through......in fact wondering if there could be grounds for 'tapping up' or whatever the phrase is now. The hold up is a bit strange. What 'practical issues' could there be? Aside from needing his signature of course. Would be ****ing funny if it fell through. Imagine the meltdown on here if a manager was coming to us, and this hold up was going on!

Just been pondering the topics of ambition, investment and success: in the context of the EPL. Which of the non-traditional 'top' teams have 'spent' their way to success in recent years? Man City most recently perhaps...and.....ummmmm, I'm struggling. Chelsea going back some few years of course. And in the same timeframe, which clubs have overspent and imploded? It's a far longer list I'm sure. A half-sensible Evertonian would be quietly excited; and with a healthy slice of cynicism thrown in. It's going to be interesting how things play out for them.
