  1. Looks great and have ordered the book, went to all 3 festivals. I remember 1969 when a mates tent got stolen, most of us came back with flea bites and Dylan was a dissapointment given our expectations. still seen him on nearly every other UK tour and he's more than made up for it
  2. Thanks great watch, surely the club should bring out a dvd of the season with bonus JPT final highlights would make a great momento for fans
  3. Much as I love Lambert & Co he has been the best player in this league by a country mile and could easily see a prem club take him
  4. Jamie O'Hara simple as that!
  5. As per my post on the other POTS thread Like many on here : Lambert, Fonte & Lallana my top three, but given Adam has missed a third of the season must be between JF & RL. Both have been crutial in getting us where we are but given our defensive record and being the only constant in a ever changing back four plus his vital goals it has to be Fonte for me.

  7. Watching League 1 highlights every week I notice quite a few great goals coming from outside the box, Elliott Bennett has scored some crackers lately for the Gulls. Got me wondering when was the last goal we scored from outside the penalty area from open play? I seem to remember a mis hit cross from Chamberlain that found the back of the net, other than that I am struggling to remember any this season.
  8. Agree with this but RL is also very clever and if you watch closely there are a lot of headers that he doesn't actually challenge for off the ground, just plans himself under the path of the ball meaning the defender has to go over him to win the ball invariably putting his arms on RL shoulders.
  9. Apologies if mentioned on match thread but did anyone hear tha announcer say we needed to get 3 points to keep the pressure on Hartlepool. It was so good he said it twice in the build up!
  10. +1 Couldn't agree more interesting watching Lambo closely tonight given http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?29306-Lambert-and-Tactics
  11. I get very frustrated that when we are defending set pieces I notice we rarely leave players on the halfway line for the "out" ball. Watching Posh recently CMS only seems to come into his own half to stay onside. Surely if you leave a quickie up they will leave two back, if you put two up, both wide they leave 3 or 4 back. This gives us a chance to counter attack or at least retain possession when it’s hoofed/headed/punched out of our box. Also gives a greater numerical advantage to defending team. I appreciate it’s different if you are in injury time defending a one goal lead, or is it ??
  12. This is true as well but RL is never going to take the full backs on unlike Lallana/Oxo/Forte. If he is wide on the left at least he can come inside and possibly create room for a shot but wide left the only option is pass inside or cross into the box where LB will come off second best to the two 6ft+ centre backs.
  13. I agree with you but why can't LB do that role and leave Rickie in the box ?
  14. I am a big fan of Lambert but I do wish he wouldn’t drift out wide so often. Yes he does deliver a great ball into the box (remember when he was taking corners!) and can pick a pass but we need him to be in the box putting pressure on the centre backs and keeper. I think he would be more effective if he played in a traditional centre forwards role. Anybody think that he must be playing to NA instructions or is he just given free role to roam where he likes?
  15. I've been going since 1963, my OH booked a suprise holiday in Rhodes for my 60th without looking at the fixture list which means I will miss the last game at home to Walsall ! At least I will be back for the play offs
  16. If NA takes us to the premiership can you imagine the weekly post match interviews on MOTD! Could well rival Holloway for entertainment value.
  17. If we release a dvd of this season maybe call it "On the Buses" Awesome tonight in NA we trust
  18. Hollo**** just on SSN confirming he will play a mixture of second string and youth players. First team won't even be on the bench as it's a long journey!
  19. A group of us used to do that in the days when Cherries had McDougall and Bowyer
  20. No but the latest is that Guly has signed a 2 year deal-fingers crossed
  21. Born South Wales and brought up on Rugby Union-moved to New Forest in 1961 aged 10 and have been going to Dell/St Mary's ever since. Saints the only Football club I have ever supported but always support Wales when they play England!
  22. Agreed but would also like the addition of another Chaplow like player I think it's no coincidence that his return to the side has had a major impact. A similar hard tackling, box to box player who can pick a pass and score the odd goal would not only be great cover but would strenghen the middle for all the tough away games coming up.
  23. Thanks didn't remember that 75,000 for a pre season game ! Bit different to these days. Been to Giants to see the Boss a few times, shame they pulled it down
  24. For all those wanting to publicly flog KD for his first mistake of the season you might watch MOTD tonight. Two international goalkeepers-Paul Robinson made a complete rick of a shot but got away with it, Gomez lets a shot from Drogba go right through him. It happens to most keepers occasionally. The people bemoaning him on here were probably the same praising him for keeping us in the game against Brighton.
