So my thoughts again are a bit concerned that this diamond isn't suiting anyone but Tadic. Long relied on a quick pass he only got one and scored. Not sure but players don't look happy no smiles at all although all celebrated goal. Could be just me reading too much into it. Sjojberg and Romeu were good and the Juanmi replacement Redmond looks lively and creative. I don't see the point in Charlie Austin getting the ball deep wide on half way line it's just a waste. Bilbao technically good but I could have played in goal and Fraser didn't make a save. Pied is Paul Telfer mk2 and is ok and did a job. We have too many of same style and standard JWP,Reed, Clasie and Davis although the latter ahead of them but none of the other three do enough for a top 10 team for me. We look solid but are 2 quality players away yet. If we can get the full backs into play - Bertrand and Cedric then 10th as the formation relies on having good full backs that can deliver.

Totally agree with you - I so want Clasie to do well but we don't need him JWP and Romeu at same time he just doesn't offer anything offensively. My thoughts: Redmond very lively could have scored two looks a good signing tried too hard second half. Like him though and will lift crowd. Our system requires decent full backs but ours again showed little end product. Austin worries me as can't play this system looks slow and cumbersome but does the business around the box. Sjojberg looks a good player. Romeu awesome but just always that one wincing tackle McCarthy made a couple of good saves. That worked wonders on Gaston and Osvaldo didn't it....we have strengthened weak positions in the squad - now I would like us to get a good striker/creative player to strengthen the first 11 - problem is so does everyone else.

From what I have seen the front 3 will be flexible to interchange - the problem some have jumped to IMO is that they think Redmond will be the main striker - he wont it will be one of the 3 like an old inside forward but also pressing high up. Just from pre-season games watched on YouTube you get a better idea watching live so hope to see this in next 2 friendlies.

How much were Mane and Pelle signed for so by your reckoning not Prem class? Was Paul Mitchell not responsible for Gaston, Osvaldo, Mayuka, Forren then? Agreed about Rodriguez and the ITK have stated its being worked upon - we have to wait until the deal is done and window closed.

Why because its such a stupid statement....VVD, Forster, Mane and Bertrand were as much of a reason. As for not being his biggest fan - you didn't rate Koeman or the team much last season either going by your posts so Puel doesn't have much to do to beat him does he prepared or not. I have not seen a post that states we don't need to replace Mane - I have seen several to say its being worked on, if a club are loathe to sell then not much we can do. Some players don't want to move south - some may not want to work for Puel who knows but I would bet we have one before the window closes.

What are his weaknesses? positioning? Obviously you have seen him enough times to state that so can you enlighten me as I have never seen him play

Well all we can do is trust our goalkeeping coach as it seems he had a big hand in his recruitment. Gazza never ever gave me confidence after some poor mistakes and looked a scared rabbit at times. This suits all parties as Gazza hopefully gets games away from here and we get a decent backup keeper who Watson feels can improve. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
