  1. Dont agree with that at all - Mayuka dived was hardly any contact at all it was right in front of me. I know its the done thing now to slag off referees but Webb was very very good on Saturday and got 99.9% right IMO. The number of times he let it flow with advantage and the stopping it quickly when obvious it wasn't going to be was top reffing. Best one we have had all season by far.
  2. Apologies didnt want this to go off on a tangent it was in answer to the post about the future is bright and it was under twelves. Will leave it at that . Good win for the u21's and having watched them against Man Utd when it was appalling good news.
  3. I am not sure as don't get program but played central midfield holding - elegant, sprayed it wide, good engine and great control. Dan I think was his name. I do a bit of coaching and help run a team and see quite a few games - this lad looks the best I have seen in ages.
  4. I watched the Saints u12s last night and they have a fantastic young lad playing for us - best young lad player I have seen in years. A long way to go for him yet and he has to cope with body changes but he looks top stuff IMO.
  5. Please do not quote this troll...he has had this proved to be inaccurate time and time again.
  6. The Iraq Minister Of Comms in full swing again then : http://www.supporters-direct.coop/?news-article=pst-welcomes-football-leagues-show-of-confidence-in-trust-bid The Pompey Supporters’ Trust moved one step closer to creating Britain’s biggest community club after The Football League gave the green light to its bid. Apart from Swansea and Exeter that is....
  7. Well its hardly JayRods fault he was priced at that...I am more concerned we paid £12m for Gaston. British young strikers you pay a premium for anyway. Sunderland paid what £11m for Connor Wickam? I can see some talent in Jay and on Saturday he gave us another option to our forward play that no other striker we have does...apart from Mayuke who is deemed not a starter either and he cost what £3m? Our transfer policy this summer stinks of incompetence...non of that is the players fault and nor is the figure put on their heads either. What if he had been a free but we had paid him stupid wages over the same term? You obviously don't rate him that fair enough its all about opinions look at TT assessment on UI certainly not one I hold any regard to and that got shot down. He is young and improving and on Saturday his movement created space for others and I believe he will come good if he can score a few goals soon and get that confidence up - he would of done already if it hadn't been for a numpty lino!
  8. Our group moved seats to save us £600 we have moved down to row W...it does my head in....late coming in, leaving 10 minutes before half time but the worst is the early leavers....why? You miss all the extra time and nerve jangling and the relief at the final whistle and for me the appreciation of the players efforts. Do we win that many Prem games it doesnt matter any more?
  9. Agreed but as I said I think there were mitigating factors ......I spent the whole of last season sticking up for him to the two in front of me. Guly is talented but he does not do himself any favours some weeks
  10. The outpouring of outrage on here is comical...it as if no other player has ever been boo'ed at a Saints game. Its nothing new...I remember going back to Melia at the Dell, the completely useless Lew Chatterley...Benali was boo'ed. Every club has fans that boo their players. I was more ****ed off with all the numpties leaving with 8 minutes left...FFS why? PS I didn't boo but thought it was the wrong choice at the time as it took away all our pace up front but Guly put in a good shift. I think some of it was because some still remember him coming on against Man Utd and Fulham that had some impact not excusing but a factor IMO
  11. Did anyone think Ramirez was worth 12m then on his performances so far - yes the odd flash and obvious talent yet £12m???....Michu was signed for £2m yet Rodriguez gets slaughtered for not being worth £6m when he is work in progress. He was good today yet just needs a goal or two to up his confidence.
  12. Puncheon ..not for his goal but his covering of Clyne when he went forward - one time he ran 40 yards to get back and cover an out of position Clyne. Good performance from the whole defence and I thought Rodriguez had a great first half - needs a few goals but its coming.
  13. Just like your football team...utter twaddle.
  14. What a great post...I know I am biased as explained above. The thing is if you didn't have TV, analysts watching it over and over again then you wouldn't get this slaughter of officials. Rugby now get the advantage of action replays and its time our refs got that as well as making that split second decision is nigh impossible and they then get crucified later by some numpty has watched it 20 time from every angle. A ref can only give what he see's...the problems come when he doesn't.
  15. Can I butt in and say "Pompey fan on a string" that makes me cringe every time its sung...its embarrassing.
  16. I can't answer that from that level...I can at local level and yes they do a great deal in Hampshire for the referees especially the young ones. Mentoring, refs associations, training, fitness etc all available for local refs and that helps them push on if they want to do professionally or up levels.
  17. Yep and he would of done it with a smile on his face as well. He had a way of dealing with it in a friendly way....the voice of experience here as I was ticked off a few times by him for some of my agricultural tackling.
  18. My lad has started this year, its a chance for him to earn a few quid - he earns in 1.5 hours what some of his mates earn on paper rounds or MacD's in 9! He told me he also had enough of getting rubbish refs and felt he could do better. He has done several Saints academy games this year and loves the fact he has possibly officiated some future Prem stars from West Ham, Chelsea, Saints etc Although he only does youth games at the moment he has had to control some right planks on the line. Oh Chorlton he also wants to be a copper ....and that is comical.... authoritative when compared to him!!!

  20. Max Clifford “All kinds of things went on and I do mean young girls throwing themselves at them in their dressing rooms at concert halls, at gigs, whatever. They never asked for anybody’s birth certificate and they were young lads … suddenly everyone’s dream was a reality.”
  21. Sorry to take off topic but watched Chris Eubanks son Jnr fight the other day. Not bad but that posing......think until he actually achieves something he should keep his chin out of the way!
  22. Rule 1 for us pervs ?
  23. +1 Money could of been better spent elsewhere...like Michu, Curtis Davies, Bassong, Turner etc
  24. Agreed but I tend to look for ones that stand out from the rest, Cropper and Reeves did, Man Utd number 10 did. I am not being too hard on Mayuke as he had very little support or quality pass ...Lee as others have said was abysmal I wonder if the injuries he has had have diminished what talent he had - he certainly didn't want any physical stuff.
