  1. Is that C_ockney rhyming??? I don't believe we do get that many going by the many empty seats around me at the Norwich game it looked more like 12k!!! Cripes I remember a Spurs reserve game at SMS where we had 11k when they had Rebrov playing.
  2. St Marco again you missed the point ...Nick is not speaking for us...he is just appealing to ALL Saints fans on behalf of the Saints Trust as their spokesman. How do you know the numbers of people that are not attending because of Lowe and how many are not attending because of finance those are big assumptions to make. All Nick is saying is that anyone who is staying away because of Lowe should realise the hurt they are doing....surely you can see that is right due to loss of revenue? Saints prices are lower than several clubs in this league. Whether or not you believe Lowe is the devil incarnate or if this action is the correct one to remove him for good the fact cannot be ignored that we are deep in the crap with only 14/5k attending - David Luker has stated that we cannot cut prices as that would mean alienating the 10k season ticket holders on renewal time so the only way forward is more bums on seats. I am not sure whether re-introducing the early bird prices on a pro rata basis would work but it might get a few more ST sold without ****ing off the current ones and more dosh in the kitty right now.
  3. Have you ever met Nick??? You can find him here http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forums.php its his site. Nick has spent a lot of time in the past out there campaigning and working for the good of the club and supporters and yes sometimes he can just appear to like the publicity but he puts himself up there just like you or I could. You are way off the mark saying he knows nothing about the club . He is not "our supposed spokesman" he is the Saints Trust spokesman.
  4. Who ....or why write on a website crap about takeovers...its fine on boards like this with other fans but look at that site and the date.
  5. Not a cricket thread ;-) but I was listening to Radio Hampshire last night and there was some very good callers on discussing Pearson, Lowe and non attendees...Ted Sainty one was called I believe who spoke a lot of sense. Richard Chorley called in and although I did not agree with a lot of his rant it certainly could not be argued his passion. Nick Illingsworth unfarely IMO came in for a lot of stick again which is a shame as I have known Nick for over 40 years and he is a very loyal fan if sometimes misunderstood especially about non attendees. Anyway I digress the point was that Stuart Dennis twice said when talking about Pearson that we were lucky on the last day that Leicester ****ed up well I was sure we finished above Coventry making that point invalid. Googling CCC league [positions found this site...who writes up this crap and what motive is it their 15 minutes of fame? http://flc.theoffside.com/page/2
  6. Thanks for the report Navyred ...good to see Paterson back to scoring form. Having watched him miss a few recently his head seemed to drop and I was worried it would have a big impact on him as he looks a 'confidence' player and I have high hopes for him.
  7. Yeh thats what we did - hired it from Ashbourne Cycle Centre a tag a long thing - watch it through the tunnel can get very slippery. Make sure he keeps pedalling ;-) There is a cheapish car park rignt near the tunnel think we parked in the field. Good pubs in Ashbourne and a decent Chinese as well.
  8. No sorry got it wrong it was the Manifold Cycle path we did as well as the Tissington. Its about 13 miles from Ashbourne...fantastic beer but jeesh you have to see this pub to believe it....it has millions of pounds worth of antiques and run by a very strange landlord.
  9. Yep your right it was Tittesworth Reservoir that we did as well.....if you get the chance go to Dovedale its brilliant. Try and find this place....but I bet you would not want to eat there! Yew Tree Inn Cauldon, Waterhouse (01538 308348) The Yew Tree Inn dates back some 300 years so you can expect plenty of character. However, not only is this pub lovingly preserved and decorated, it has a tempting menu and a great range of beers, wines and spirits. You can join another route called Manifold at Cauldon - Brown Tree Farm do cycle hire.
  10. We did the Tissington last year.....there is also a good one at Ashbourne
  11. No matter how much I dislike that saggy face judas scumbag that post is totally out of order. You should be ashamed to call yourself a human and wishing that on his family and friends.
  12. Almost it was £4:59 (kids were £3:89) in the one at Castlepoint nr Bournemouth on Saturday as its due for renewal in February.
  13. Well the current England shirt is on sale at Sports Direct for about that......perhaps someone is going to the game on Saturday and needed to feel part of the crowd?
  14. Chief short wearer...even when it was -5c our Dennis would be seen in them! Or our main BBC man?
  15. Um what about here.....although its only on the OS so not really a true source http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/club/?page_id=151 Suggest you get your facts right before accusing others of fantasy land!!!
  16. The OP has been right on many occasions - I may not hold his viewpoint on RL or the way the club is run at times but I think you will find its not a rumour and he will be proved correct again.
  17. But no nonsense defenders and teams that play good football are not alien to each other and you can have both. Look at WBA last season Robinson is no pussycat and they played great football. We have made so many mistakes when it comes to defenders ..whoever gave Powell an extension to his contract needed shooting what a complete waste of money. He had a threepenny bit head and had more injuries than Pahars and Delgado put together. We keep relying on Svennson to be fit...then panicked into signing Thomas who now 'allegedly' is earning too much to play - not sure if true but having spoken to him personally know he is very much out of favour here. I like Killer and really wish him well and admire his tenacity BUT he now has the turning circle of the Titanic and have let our emotion rule over what is best for the team which is not banking on a 4 year injury miraculously healing and the player not suffering any reaction - especially playing him in needless cup games. Don't get me started on defenders that stand there with their arm in the air!!! ;-)
  18. Thanks ...I am so bloody frustrated at the way this club has ignored the basics since Svennson got injured at Krap Nottarf. Every successful side has a foundation at the back - Reading bought Bikey and Sonko to do a job - Sonko in Readings promotion season was the best defender I have seen in this division since our relegation - look at Blackpool brick **** houses with ability that win virtually every header, Barnsley an absolute ****e team that never looked like conceding with Darren Moore playing for them. We however continue to play lightweight make do's playing out of position rather than address the fact. I do not need reminding we have no funds but the squad has to have the right balance - more wins means more money via gate receipts and you will struggle if you lose every single header that comes into the box.
  19. Tell her that she promised you a blowey tonite...she is probably in denial from the dementia so can't turn you down saying she forgot can she?
  20. Isn't Malcolm Webster the reason why Kelvin has improved so much and Richard Wright was so good here then? Its a good plan to replace one of the things that is working perfectly at the moment.
  21. Don't sign any more squad players or ones with broken bones but actually get in some defenders - preferably ones that can head the ball. If we are that skint why sign Gasmi, Pulis, Smith when every man and his dog (even the guide ones) can see our problem is defence. The only manager to recognise the fact we can't win a header is Pearson when bringing in Lucketti. Watch Saturdays game again and tell me how many headers we won....I reckon about 10% and at least 2 goals came from losing the header. Nearly every side has a big lump of a centre half..not us we gamble on a bloke thats been injured for 4 years, a 16 year old left back , a young lad that has played mainly as a ball winning midfielder in the youth side as a right back, play another untried lightweight ball playing youngster alongside a tiny guy in Perry. Thomas was told he is surplus to requirements and has an injury, Svennson will miss more games than he plays so lets get in some loan with a bit of experience and height and brick up the real problem. Let the youngsters then play the game as they can knowing they have a rock solid backline behind them if they make a mistake.
  22. Hey I made the 50,000 view ..I have seen Elton live and he was brilliant but then again I am an old git
  23. Not relevant in this case but its also free on the IOW if over 70. We had the same issue with MIL and now gets free daily visits.
  24. From my seat in block 34 he certainly seem to palm the first one away and the second one seemed to be a complete reaction get anything onto the ball an amazing save. I think full credit here also to Malcolm Webster who despite my concerns after losing David Coles has proved a worthy successor - look at Richard Wright and what MW did for him here and how bad he is at Ipswich.
  25. He has a lot more to show yet - he is understandably nervous and doesn't get forward half as much as in reserve games and hasn't gone by the last defender on the outside yet. Wait till he really is on fire and you will see someone who I think is better than Bale was here at that age when pushing forward.
