Well looking on the bright side - Hendersons team lost 3-0, Pardew came to the pitchside and we won 4-2!!!

Had several long weekends playing in Ireland...some fantastic courses and very reasonable. I was playing one in Lurgan during a lull in the troubles years ago, just about to play a shot when a helicopter appeared over the trees with a couple of soldiers with armalite rifles looking down - does wonders for your concentration. A fantastic place to play golf, great people, great courses and the black stuff is brilliant in its own country - different taste in the North to South.

Paterson to right midfield? He is a centre forward FFS as shown by his lack of awareness and defending and cover for James. Its not Patersons fault but a stupid decision by the coach. How the hell Wotton stayed on for 90 mins beats me. We should of gone 4-4-2 in the end just to try and give us an option to hold on the ball up front instead of them getting it and passing through our side who were chasing shadows. Ajax were a quality side but the 4th goal was abysmal defending and missed 3 tackles.

Rasiak started well and got to virtually the only cross and decent pass he had all game. Its easy sat in the stands watching but when you are up against 4 defenders virtually on your own and no-one within 20 yards of you then you would get as dismayed as he was! Out of Gillet, James, Mills, Wotton and Lallana who actually gave him a decent pass? There was one occasion he called for the ball on his chest from a throw in...Molyneux pinged it 5 yards over his head to their defender! How can he chase the ball down from their goalkeeper to the defender when he is covering the whole backline? Yes at times his control was abysmal saturday but its not easy controlling the ball and trying to pick out someone who is hiding in front of the defence. Gillet tried to get forward but kept running up blind avenues. Until we get decent, skilful wingers who can supply our forwards with decent chances we will not see the best of Rasiak. We need someone alongside him and perhaps Stern as well that can get the otherside of defences and give us options. At the moment we have loads of uncreative midfielders and very slow,lethargic forwards with no supply.

I just dont understand why they shut the bottle bar in the Kingsland/Northam corner. There are loads of people who do not want to go down and join the beer queues with 10 minutes to go before half time. There were a large number yesterday that just gave up and went back upstairs which is a big waste of revenue.

As someone said to me last night if they are that good and out of contract why haven't other clubs snapped them up? However if I was given a choice between Stern and Rasiak I would choose Stern some forget it was his goals that kept us up the other year . Had he not of been loaned out I am sure he would of scored far more than our other poor forwards last year.

He was there 4 years....thats a bloody big stepping stone in terms of SFC who have had about 12 managers in 8 years!!! I have read that on here several times now but for me if he can get us up 2 divisions then bugger off to his spiritual home then the job he was employed to do will have been completed. We will be in higher division and a far better place to attract good managers than Div 1 on -10.

How many managers actually stay anywhere if a better offer comes along....WGS is seen as a cult hero here but he walked out on us to have that mythical operation. In his book he states that he had taken us as far as possible and needed a bigger challenge. Pardew can be as disloyal and as mercenary as he likes as long as he gets up up 2 divisions and then buggers off as we will then be a far bigger attraction to other managers than we are bottom of Div 1 on -10.

We could appoint 'The Chosen One' and some would complain its not Capello! I jumped for joy when we got Burley who I loathed with a passion at the end...was not happy when we got Strachan. This time I am waiting and hoping he is as good an appointment as I think it is. If he gets a good start and gets the -10 wiped out quickly which will be tough as we do not have any players yet the club will be on a roll....the fans are geared up for it. Can't wait for tomorrow to get back to SMS with Flag and face paints ;-)
