  1. I think this may now be on hold as Martinez may be off to Celtic - approach has been made
  2. No defiantely my one...tell the Echo.... From there they strolled on to the harbor where they posed for photographs in a small boat before sailing to Stewart's luxury yacht "The Lady Ann Magee". http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSL1627018220070617?feedType=RSS
  3. Sorry FF that is wrong IMO, I get Setanta free as part of my Virgin package and have watched loads of Celtic games. I have been impressed with the way they pass the ball about, Ok we all know Scottish football is not as strong as the PL etc but you still have to play the right way. Strachans team had players like Nakamura, McGeedie, McDonald who are hardly built for hit and hope players. Celtic didn't do too bad in the CL considering the budget they work to compared with the other clubs in it. Not for one minute do I think he will come back and just maybe we are better remembering the good times and not ruin it. I never did enjoy going out with a girlfriend the second time...never ever felt as good as the first.
  4. Wasn't this one then ;-) http://www.charterworld.com/index.html?sub=yacht-charter&charter=lady-ann-magee-1222
  5. I have been championing Bishop for ages on here but he has just gone in for a knee op ...not his first either so too big a gamble IMO. I would definately get in Graeme Murty from Reading who has just been released, local club so doesnt have to move, a good player and make him captain.
  6. Quite possible and going by some of the usual mongs reactions to the letter on here they just may decide to do just that. Why bother being open and transparent when you get accused of being another Wilde even before you have taken over and given a chance.
  7. June 17th 10am http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/KeyDates/0,,10794~1357319,00.html
  8. This is only for 20/20 games - FPT games you were allowed to bring in alcohol. There was a thread on general sport last week about it - its also on the ticket. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=13321
  9. Well we have had enough of manifestos....this is just a start IMO and he couldnt exactly give you his 20 point plan for success considering they havn't actually completed the deal and it could still go tits up. See this for what it is the first step in trying to get us on the right step nothing more.
  10. Having read this twice now I am so optimistic that we have finally turned the corner but I have a crap record...I supported Wilde, gave Lowe a second chance..... All I can do is follow my team as best I can...I said last year was the last year for my 2 STs after hating last season so much. If Pinnacle do complete the take over I will deffo renew. Thanks Tony for your hard work
  11. What about those on 'gardening' leave like Hockaday? He certainly knows the players and was doing a decent job before he fell foul of the nutjobs we had in charge last season.
  12. Wrong spelling...knowing Saints its more likely this lot http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theroylefamily/
  13. I agree some managers fit in at places like Redkrapp at Pompey but this was not just the views of one fan. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-league/dutch-manager-lined-up-by-saints-520362.html I am just really emphasising my view that Wotte would struggle to get another job in England or Holland. I acknowledge your views as thats what football is all about but for me he is not what we need here next season.
  14. Really? http://netherlands.worldcupblog.org/1/feyenoord-where-did-it-go-wrong.html Someone appointed former youth player Mark Wotte as technical director. Why? Nobody knows. Wotte was a mediocre coach at mediocre clubs. Didn’t have any management experience at all. Still, he was in charge of building a new Feyenoord, with Ruud Gullit. I don’t know how many players came from how many different countries, but at the end of the day, Wotte/Gullit failed. Miserably.
  15. Agree with you. But he is a drowning man clinging on to his last lifebelt, who else in England would employ him? His career in Holland was littered with relegation and even administration. It is very easy to come out with the talk but he never walked the walk. He never had a plan B and stuck rigid to the narrow diamond formation. Some silly team selections (like Morgan wide right at Blackpool worst performance from a Saints player this season) and although I accept he had limited squad he was part of the management team that bought in 7 shocking loans.
  16. In the main the staff did do that and to say that it relied on Lowe bashing is doing a disservice to the other members of staff like Gemma, John etc. Why did you listen if you hated it that much? Are you a masochist then? If I don't like a programme I don't watch it or listen to it. I will declare that I am very grateful to this radio station as I won a big competition run by them for Smilemakers that enabled my daughter to have treatment she needed that we would of had to try and fund after being let down by the local NHS. A great shame IMO as they had some very interesting programmes and enjoyed the music they played.
  17. Stopped....well I couldnt pick it up in the wifes car just now. Shame as I really liked some of the stuff on there. Nineteen you really are a piece of work...you are happy that people have lost their jobs At radio Hampshire yet you were slagging off Crouch the other week for laying off 50!
  18. Simples...treat them all the same and only believe what you hear from Fry himself. Not that doing it is easy as we all need the ITK fix.
  19. I think what some are trying to say Jan is that there may not of been an Irish bid or that they never actually exist or even have the 500k to put on the table.
  20. I don't think everyone was...many people were reading your warnings and when I heard that nothing was being announced after all yesterday that set warning bells for me. I think we are stuffed. Great day yesterday skates get a rich sheik, Hants lose by 1 run and our alleged buyers cannot come up with the cash and seal the deal.
  21. Quite possibly but whilst Dyer is here he will not progress, he has gone stale and has too much 'history' here to be the player he wants to be. It happens, Kevin Davies was the same second time where he just wasn't going to achieve his full potential as he need the North to feel comfortable. We may regret it in the future but IMO he will never make it here, hopefully McLaggon will come through and be better than Nathan anyway.
  22. I think this answers that http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4401143.Saints_agree_Dyer_deal_with_Swansea/
  23. We need Staplewood to attract up and coming youngsters to join Southampton and not the lot down the M27. Portsmouth have spent quite a bit in recent times vamping up their academy side. The benefits of Staplewood and a good academy have born the fruit in recent seasons. We would of folded earlier without the Bale and Walcott money. We are now at even bigger disadvantage to other clubs in the area that can offer a higher standard of football...the one thing that we can attract kids is to our facilities.
  24. His partner is the lighting milionaire Shaun Dolear
  25. Could you cope that long without your moderation fix?
